Alaska Military Veteran Warns of History Repeating Itself And the Threat of More Human Casualties, ‘These hands folded 36 flags in four months’

No one in the U.S. looks back on the war in Iraq fondly. It turns out, people really don’t like their friends and family dying for a meaningless cause. Now the war with Iran is feeling like a repeat of history. On TikTok, one military veteran from Alaska tells it straight to his audience. To him, the consequences of this war aren’t worth the harm and suffering it’ll cause the U.S.

Adam (TikTok/adam_unusual) starts his TikTok video by sharing his own military background, which include “a few tours in Iraq.” With politics set aside and just looking at the “cold, hard facts,” Adam says, “Our young men and women are about to die for an old man’s fight and none of the old men are gonna take part in it, so they’re not going to die.”

Adam then compares the war in Iran to the war in Iraq, with oil being one of the major driving points. “It’s the same exact thing with a different face on it.” He begs to the camera to listen to reason. “These hands folded 36 flags in four months,” Adam says.

Not only would friends and family be the victims of another war, but Adam warns of a far greater cost: “More flags will be folded and they will be draped over the caskets of our children.” Being open and honest, Adam shares the flashbacks he has, and the struggles and loss of his friends, too. It has taken a toll on all of them.

Adam is in disbelief. “God, I’d never thought I’;d see this twice in my lifetime. We’re in trouble,” Adam says, and he ends his TikTok video.

Comments on TikTok Were Full of Worried and Angry Citizens

“As a mother of two Marines, one veteran, one active, I’m scared because my oldest son lives with PTSD from war,” and thanked Adam for his service. More and more military veterans are speaking out, too!

Another commenter shared a pithy saying, “My grandmother used to say: ‘If politicians fought in the wars they started, there would be a lot less war.’”

One commenter shared a personal story of their father “crying from his hospital bed” when he saw the news. Being a “Navy veteran during the Gulf War,” the man’s father said “it’s happening again.”

Getting to the heart of the problem, one TikTok user stated, “Our troops dying for the entertainment of the rich.” As Adam was getting at in his video, is going to war for no reason worth the justification of family and friends dying? And with the price of oil going up, it’s only strangling the income of families already living paycheck to paycheck.
