It appears that there may be some animosity between Alfonso Ribeiro and Tyler Perry. On Tuesday, fans entered into a frenzy after Ribeiro’s controversial comment about Perry. To many’s surprise, the Dancing With the Stars host revealed he didn’t want to work with Perry to regain his Hollywood notoriety. Recall that in a recent chat with Closer Weekly, Ribeiro admitted that his acting career took a big hit after he played Carlton Banks in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. “It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play, but it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else,” he told the outlet.
In the light of the revelation, a fan took to X on Monday to suggest that Alfonso Ribeiro and Tyler Perry collaborate on a project to help the former’s career. “@tylerperry needs to revamp @alfonso_ribeiro career, I just know he could,” the fan tweeted. While it seemed like a great idea, Ribeiro’s response to the post shocked fans. “I don’t need or ever want that man to do anything for me,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
As expected, Ribeiro’s comment about Perry sparked curiosity among fans. Many revealed they wouldn’t be shocked if the actor came up with shocking claims about the billionaire in the coming weeks, considering the recent trend of celebrities calling out other celebrities.
Fans Wonder If Alfonso Ribeiro Knows Something
Recall that during his bombshell interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast in January, Katty Williams made shocking claims about some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Also, in recent times, there have been physical and sexual assault allegations leveled against rapper Diddy. As such, many were convinced Ribeiro knew something about Perry that the world didn’t. “I wonder what he knows that we don’t 👀 he said “that man,” one fan wrote underneath The Shade Room‘s repost. Another fan shared, “He ain’t responding like that unless he know something 😭, somebody interview cuz asap.”
A third fan remarked, “Call it blind faith but I believe Alfonso don’t want no parts for a reason.” A fourth person added, “Sounds like Mr. Alfonso know a lil something the roomies don’t know. I felt the “THAT MAN” response.” Other fans shared that the tweet about Ribeiro needing Perry’s help made no sense. According to them, the actor was one of the few from the ’90s who still had a lot going for him.
