Finding the location of the boss enemies in Nightingale is important if you want to progress through the quests or obtain and craft rare items. Barring one, searching for their whereabouts can be tricky since most bosses or Apex creatures appear randomly throughout the Realms. With the Spyglasses and Hunt Card though, finding these powerful adversaries can be made easier. Do note that what we consider boss-type enemies here are the ones with a special health bar on top of your screen.
Fabled Automaton Knight Boss Location in Nightingale
There is a huge chance that Fabled Automaton Knight is going to be your first boss battle in Nightingale. You’ll have to unlock the Antiquarian Realm Card to progress the game by going to Realm’s Site of Power, and that’s where you’ll meet it.
Fabled Automaton Knight’s biggest weak point is the gem on its back. Circle the arena often and dodge its Magick sword attacks by stepping to the left or the right. While the one in the story quest Site of Power comes alone, other Automaton Knights might be guarded by Automatons.
The Antiquarian Site of Power itself is located in Abeyance Forest Realm, somewhere near the Essence Trader and Wilhelmina Sasse. Since the game employs randomly generated terrain, its exact location can be different for each player or Portals. Nevertheless, outside of the main quest, this particular Nightingale boss location is in the last section of any Site of Power.
Humbaba, The Swamp Giant Apex Boss
Inspired by the giant in the Mesopotamian Gilgamesh myth, Humbaba is the boss of Nightingale Swamp Realms. This Apex behemoth is huge, so the best way to take it down is by grouping up and shooting it from afar with firearms. Once weakened, it will attempt to run away. You can either wait for it to come back refreshed for a second round or chase it and put it down for good.
To increase the chance of spawning Apex bosses in Nightingale, use the Hunt Major Card on the Portal. Try resetting your Portal or game if you can’t find them.
Elder Eoten Apex Boss Location in Nightingale
The magical living tree can be found guarding the Forest Realms. However, you won’t be able to instantly spot one with the naked eye. You can use the Spyglasses to get a gist of its hiding spot but you need to force the Apex creature to show up afterward.
You can summon the Elder Eoten by presenting an item on an Offering Altar, a pedestal made of tree roots. If you give it a Ritual Fabled Meat, you will be rewarded with an Elder Eoten Heart. But if you give it something it doesn’t like, it will get angry and dig out from the ground. Simply striking it with an Axe will make it mad as well.
Once it’s location is known, the best way to deal with the Nightingale boss is by attacking its blue glowing Heart orbs using Fire weapons.
Sun Giant, The Desert Hulking Apex Wanderer
Use the Desert Biome Card and you can meet this giant traveling wanderer. Similar to the Eoten, Sun Giant is a neutral creature and has something to offer if you’re willing to trade. Hand over a Ritual Curio Configuration to the Desert Apex and he will reward you with Etched Pellucid Ingots.
We don’t recommend you anger the Nightingale boss once you find his location as his melee and Magick prowess can easily overwhelm any unprepared adventurer. Be careful though, because currently, a bug will make your AI Survivors instantly open fire at a Sun Giant.
At the time of writing, as there are only three Biome Cards, there are also only Apex creature bosses available in Nightingale. The stronger version of the Apex bosses, called Fabled Apex, can be found in the Vault endgame dungeons. We will update this article once Inflexion Games has released more Biomes and/or Apexes for Realmwalkers to challenge.
Nightingale is available on PC via Steam.
