After what seemed an eternity of waiting, Hytale has finally launched on early access, and over one million players are rushing through the voxel gates to start their adventure. However, when we hear the term early access, we tend to feel a bit skeptical regarding the features that might or might not be included during this period. Well, if you want to know all the content that’s coming to the early access of Hytale, here’s a quick guide to show you what you can experience.
All Current Game Modes in Hytale
As a quick disclaimer, we’ll update this guide as the early access period of Hytale progresses. For now, however, there are two game modes you can experience in Hytale: Exploration and Creative.
The first is akin to many survival modes in other survival-crafting games. You jump in, start building your home, fighting some creatures, and so on. You can do this alone or with others, and that includes servers, too.
Creative will give you all the tools you need to craft your world, build structures, or create any wild things your imagination might be cooking up. Just like exploration, you can also invite players to your creative world, so they can help you build things faster. One thing to keep in mind is that the creative mode of Hytale is one of the most robust in any game of this genre, featuring things like mob spawners, machinima tools, and more.
Another part of the early access content for Hytale is modding and hosted servers. The former is available for both users and creators. Players can already find different mods that range from furniture to gameplay-changing features, while creators can start using the game’s tools to create their mods.
Servers are community-hosted worlds where the experience may vary for everyone. Some servers will stick to the vanilla gameplay, while others will require a few mods before jumping in.
In terms of what content is coming during early access for Hytale, the studio has already confirmed minigames and adventure mode. However, there isn’t a specific date for them yet.
Even with these game modes and a couple of limitations, the early access period of Hytale is already full of things to do. Whether you want to join a server with dozens of other players, host your own world, or just play alone, there’s a lot to do and plenty more things coming later.
