Once you have gathered the majority of your team in Persona 3 Reload, you gain access to night time dorm hangouts. These dorm hangouts are available most nights, although which party member and which activity is random. While these hangouts do offer short-term rewards and a good bonding opportunity for you and the rest of the SEES, there is also a big benefit to seeing these activities through multiple times. For the party members that have social links, these hangouts also give a small boost to that too, so long as you have started the link.
Every Dorm Hangout in Persona 3 Reload
The dorm hangouts in Persona 3 Reload are available whenever you see a character with the smiley face over their head at night. The one exception is when Koromaru wants to go on a walk, which is indicated by a dog icon, not the smiley face. There are four different activities: cooking, gardening, reading, and watching tv/movies. You can tell which activity is available by where the party member is standing. Movies are next to the TV, gardening is next to the stairs, cooking is at the bar near the kitchen, and reading is on the second floor near the bookshelf.
Each party member has two activities they like to do. For example, Aigis will garden and read, but Yukari will cook and watch TV. Each of the activities has different short-term rewards as well. Watching movies and reading provide a boost to a social stat. Gardening increases the yield of your crop and cooking provides a food item, which typically restores HP or SP. However, the biggest reward comes when doing each activity for the third time.
Every Dorm Hangout Reward
The third time you do each activity with a party member in the dorm hangouts in Persona 3 Reload, you unlock a new personality trait. Personality traits provide special passive boosts in combat, most of which are pretty helpful. Completing the second activity three times for a party member upgrades that personality stat, so if you have time to spare, the dorm hangouts are worth completing. Below is a list of the personality traits unlocked for each party member, along with what they do:
- Koromaru: Auto Sukunda – Lowers accuracy/evasion of 1 foe for 3 turns when battle starts
- Yukari: Healing Master – Reduces the SP cost of healing skills
- Mitsuru: Aliment Burst – Increases critical rate on foes with ailments
- Fuuka: Weakness Buffer – Reduces damage taken when an ally’s weakness is struck
- Shinjiro: Auto Bolster – Gains an attack and defense boost at the start of battle
- Akihiko: Buff Boost – Increases the effects of buffs on self
- Junpei: Critical Boost – Increases critical rate and increases critical hit strength
- Ken: Spirit Refresh – Automatically recover 5 SP each turn in battle
- Aigis: Phys Boost – Strengthens physical skills
The majority of these personality traits only kick in when that party member is included in battle. The exception is Fuuka’s, as her navigator ability is always active, making it a great one to get early on.
Persona 3 Reload is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
