  • 5. The Maiden’s Rhapsody (FFXI)
  • 4. Blunderville (Fall Guys)
  • 3. Breaking Brick Mountains (Dragon Quest X)
  • 2. A Nocturne for Heroes (FFXV)
  • 1. The Path Infernal (FFXVI)

With FFXIV being out for over a decade, seeing crossover events flooding the MMO isn’t a surprise. Thankfully, we’ve had all sorts of crossovers, from in-franchise ones to some unexpected but quite welcome. Whether you’re new or a veteran, you might want to keep track of these events. After all, these aren’t like the seasonal ones and don’t arrive on a certain date. So, if you want to see which of these mini adventures deserve your subscription time, we’ve ranked them all from worst to best.

All Recurring FFXIV Crossover Events Ranked from Worst to Best

Before we begin our list, we must put a quick disclaimer. We only included recurring crossover events in FFXIV. While there are a few, like the GARO and FFXIII ones, they aren’t recurring. They have not appeared in years, thus not worthy of this list. Furthermore, crossover quests like the Ivalice and Nier: Automata raids won’t be included because they are in the game permanently and be accessed at any time. So, without further ado, let’s see which events are worthy of your time.

5. The Maiden’s Rhapsody (FFXI)

While it is back on the list, it doesn’t make it the worst crossover event FFXIV has had; it’s just not one we’re too excited about. This questline sees the Warriors of Light teaming up with Iroha from FFXI, another MMO of Square Enix. Since many haven’t been able to play said MMO due to its limitations, it might not be the best for newcomers or even veterans who’ve stuck with single-player entries. Still, it has some entertaining activities. There are many FATEs you can participate in and a great armor set you can get as a reward. It isn’t mind-blowing, but it is a good recurring event if you’re a fan of both multiplayer experiences.

4. Blunderville (Fall Guys)

Despite being one of the newest and most promising events, it was packed with lag-filled trauma that left many with a bad memory. No one in our wildest dreams expected a Final Fantasy game to collaborate with a multiplayer title, but here we are. The Fall Guys crossover event with FFXIV added the Blunderville stages, which were basically Fall Guys‘ maps, and Warriors of Light worldwide could fight for the crown. Connectivity issues were so hard that the true boss of these levels was avoiding lag. While it had colorful rewards, we believe the MMO’s servers weren’t up for this challenge, and the collaboration’s hype died down quickly.

3. Breaking Brick Mountains (Dragon Quest X)

Given how Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are some of Square Enix’s biggest franchises, a collaboration between them isn’t too crazy to believe. With this event making four appearances in the MMO, it is a fun one to participate in if you’re a fan of both entries. If not, all you must do is tackle a few FATEs and get some fun rewards. Our favorite is the slime hat, which is one of the most fun ones to use in the game. It might not blend with other Eorzean fashion, but it is good to have nonetheless.

2. A Nocturne for Heroes (FFXV)

Everyone’s favorite edgy boy, or second favorite, returns in the FFXVI x FFXV crossover event. This one has appeared many times in the game and brings a fun solo instance to tackle alongside Noctis. With our hero stuck in Eorzea, you must find a way to help him get home. After facing an iconic Primal of the game and using some of Noctis’ powers, this black-haired hero returns, and you get to keep his outfit. Furthermore, FFXV‘s iconic vehicle becomes available at the Gold Saucer, which is one of the best 4-person mounts in FFXIV.

1. The Path Infernal (FFXVI)

Given Yoshi-P’s involvement in both games, it was a matter of time before Clive Rosfield reached the colorful world of Eorzea. In the latest crossover event of FFXIV, we follow Clive as he tries to return to Valisthea. Similar to A Nocture for Heroes, we have a fantastic solo instance where we face Ifrit and use some of Final Fantasy 16‘s skills. While short, it is packed with action, marvelous music, and the best rewards ever. I mean, we all wanted to get the best boy as a mount, right? And sure, Clive’s armor is great, but nothing beats having Valisthea’s most loyal hound next to us.

Since the MMO is far from ending, we can expect more collaborations. Hopefully, Dawntrail and further expansions bring new questlines for us to tackle. And if not, we only hope we can see our favorites ones return sometime in the future.
