Fishing spots in Destiny 2 are a new addition to the game, and at locations like EDZ, players can explore something new. It takes players away from the excitement and fighting and allows them to slow down. If you want to enjoy this mechanic, you must first track down each of the exact locations. We will show you where you can fish and how the mechanic works in Destiny 2.
Fishing Spots in Destiny 2
Tracking down all the Destiny 2 fishing locations is not a long task. That is because there are only three spots:
- EDZ
- Nessus
- Savathun’s Throne World
Koi fish banners offer an easy way to locate fishing spots. These are the indicator that you are approaching a fishing location. Also, there should be a circular dock nearby too.
EDZ Fishing Spots
To find the fishing spot in Destiny 2 at EDZ, you will begin your journey far south of The Outskirts. You will know you’re in the right area if you notice a large body of water nearby.
Nessus Fishing Spot
When you are in Nessus, go to The Cistern region. At The Cistern, you must stick in the eastern area from the Well of Flame. From here, you can find the fishing spot that sports the same koi fish banners and circular dock as the one in EDZ.
The main difference with these Destiny 2 fishing locations is that the one in Nessus can cause harm. That is because the fishing spot is right in the middle of a Vex lake. So, go there prepared.
Savathun’s Throne World
The fishing spot in the Throne World stands in most contrast with the previous two as the area can move. It won’t move too far, but it can change its placement. Generally, you will want to search around Miasma. More specifically, the northwest area. Remember to always look for the koi fish banners to help guide you along.

How To Fish in Destiny 2
Before you can do anything at these fishing locations in Destiny 2, you must unlock the new game mechanic. You gain access to fishing once you complete the “Gone Fishin'” quest. It is available once you complete the initial six steps in the seasonal story quest. We are not quite ready to fish though. Instead, we must find bait for the fish. Thankfully, there are many ways you can get your bait:
- Collect destination materials
- Deep Dive
- Public events
- Playlist activities
- Salvage
Once you have your bait, you can visit any of the areas we explained in the previous section to begin the fishing activity. You’ll know the best spot if you check your inventory and look at your Fishing Tackle to see which area has the buff for increased activity. When you arrive, interact to begin fishing. A prompt will show to indicate when it is time to reel in your catch.
Filling the Focused Fishing meter is your best shot to catch Exotic or Legendary fish at any fishing spot in Destiny 2. The more players you fish with, the faster you can fill it up. Exotic and Legendary fish offer the best rewards in the game. So, they are worthwhile to catch.
Destiny 2 is playable on PC, PS5/PS4, and Xbox One/Series.
