Many were saddened by Tingyun’s fateful end, especially since she was among the first characters to welcome us in The Xianzhou Luofu. However, little by little, Honkai Star Rail gave clues about what could have happened to her and her whereabouts until the name Fugue and even Ascension and Trace Materials appeared. Everyone was excited to see Tingyun again with the appearance of her drip, and now she is an entirely new character with a lot of lore to reveal.
Ascension Materials for Fugue
In her previous “life” working in the Sky-Faring Commission, Fugue excelled in getting and selling all kinds of materials in Honkai Star Rail, so it was easy for her to improve her Ascension level. These are the primary materials this renewed Foxian will search:

To get Searing Steel Blade, you must go to the Great Mine in Jarilo-VI to challenge the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Scorch. You must defeat several Automaton-style Fragmentum Monsters, but it will be easier if you take Imaginary and Lightning characters with you.
All Trace Materials for Fugue
During all this time missing from Honkai Star Rail, Fugue learned different skills, but she must find her Trace materials to improve them. These are the objects she will need:
| Tracks of Destiny x8 | You can get some Tracks of Destiny by improving your Nameless Honor or Trailblazer level. However, it is better if you complete the events in each update. |
| Regret of Infinite Ochema x12 | If you don’t have any, getting all the Boss material you need can take a couple of weeks as you can only challenge these types of Bosses thrice weekly. |
| Immortal Scionette x41 Immortal Aeroblossom x56 Immortal Lumintwig x58 | To gather these items, you must go to The Xianzhou Luofu and find Abundance Sprites, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, or Mara-Struck Soldiers. Be prepared for the battle because some monsters summon minions or recover their HP; you can bring Erudition or FuA characters. These items come from specific enemies, but you can only fight them a few times daily. It can take about three days to get all the needed materials because you must wait for the server to reset to fight these enemies again. You can try the Simulated Universe or the Omni-Synthesizer to gather more of these items. |
| Fiery Spirit x18 Starfire Essence x69 Heaven Incinerator x139 | Spend your Trailblaize Power in the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility in the Alchemy Commission, The Xianzhou Luofu. It will be easier to complete the challenge with Physical, Ice, and Lightning characters. If you don’t have any of these materials, it may take a week to gather them using your 240 points daily. |
