Places worth finding

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach features two maps: Mexico and Australia. The latter is the one where you’ll spend most of the time, but that doesn’t mean your trip to Mexico will be short. Veteran porters will quickly realize that, even after bringing the region to the network, there will be a few disconnected areas around the map, and you know what that means: hidden preppers. Here, we’ll show the locations of all the facilities in Mexico in Death Stranding 2, including the two hidden ones.

1. Ciudad Nudo del Norte

The first four facilities are part of the story, and you’ll begin your journey in Mexico here, in Ciudad Nudo del Norte, which translates to North Knot City. This one is quite easy to find as it is part of the main quest. All you must do is take on the required order and head here.

2. Villa Libre

Just like above, Villa Libre, or Free Village for those who want to translate it, is part of the main story. This is the next order you’ll get after arriving in Ciudad Nudo del Norte, so if you want to get to this prepper, just grab the quest and start walking.

3. South Distribution Center

I will sound like a broken record, but this one is yet another area that you’ll visit by following the main quest. All you must do is take the order and head here. However, this mission is where you’ll face your first bandit camp, so grab a few weapons to go in loud or get your strand ready for a more stealthy approach.

4. Former Geophysics Research Lab

The last story-related facility in Mexico in Death Stranding 2 is the Former Geophysics Research Lab. You’ll have to face a lot of BTs on the way, which is great as it serves as a tutorial or refresher to use blood grenades and BT-evading tactics, but once that’s done, you’ll arrive without a hitch. Or at least I hope so.

5. The Artist

Now, the first of the two hidden facilities in Mexico, and one you’ll want to unlock to get new customization options in Death Stranding 2. Out of the two optional ones, this one is the most “challenging” to find, in the sense that you’ll need to go through a steep road to find it. As you can see, it is across from the South Distribution Center. All you have to do is walk straight and enter the small road leading to the top of the mountain; it is hard to miss. Fortunately, you’ll have access to Tri-Cruisers already, so you can grab one to make your journey easier.

6. The Bokka

The last prepper you’ll encounter in Death Stranding 2 is The Bokka, whose facility isn’t that well hidden in Mexico. Once you get the order to return to Sam’s Shelter, you can drive straight to Sam’s home and pass a river between the South Distribution Center and Ciudad Nudo del Norte. You must follow the river to the forest and cross it; you’ll find The Bokka there. It is important that you unlock this one before leaving Mexico because it will unlock a new pair of boots. If you decide to increase your connection levels, you can even get new items to help you collect cargo faster.
