The Outlast Trials offers gamers terrifying cooperative play and scary enemies. The game has players compete in deranged tests for unknown scientists during the cold war. Players can either play the game solo or cooperatively with the online multiplayer feature, facing damaged people who wish to cause harm to them. All Outlast Trials enemies have unique abilities and gameplay features you must watch out for; there are also special enemies known as Prime Assets that are even stronger than the typical enemy.

Here’s every normal enemy you will come across in the early access of The Outlast Trials:

Enemy Name What They Do
Grunt This is the basic enemy type in The Outlast Trials. Grunts will only attack you with metal claws attached to their hands.
Big Grunt These are similar to normal Grunts, but much larger and have a wider area of attack.
Pouncer Be careful when opening lockers, as a Pouncer may already be hiding inside, ready to attack you.
Pusher Pushers wear gas masks. If they grab you, they spray you with toxic gas that will put you in a psychosis state.
Skinner Man You only see the Skinner Man if you’re in a psychosis state. This enemy in The Outlast Trials is a ghost-like creature with a dark face and black tendrils coming from him. Skinner Man’s effect on you depends on your sanity, but the enemy doesn’t harm players who aren’t in psychosis.
Screamer If you get close to a Screamer, the enemy will howl out a loud noise, disorienting you and attracting any nearby foes.
Impostor If you are playing cooperatively, an Imposter will impersonate one of your teammates and stab you. You can differentiate an Impostor from a player by their gamer tag above their head.
Berserker Berserkers are similar to Big Grunts but are blind and can only find players via sound.
The Night Hunter This is a Grunt with night vision goggles that allows him to see in the dark. However, the Night Hunter gets blinded when led to brightly lit areas.
Pitcher These are enemies that can throw objects at you.
Ground Pitcher This enemy type is the same as Pitchers, except it can also burrow underground.
Climber Climbers have a hooked weapon to attack players and climb over walls and ceilings.
Stalker These are Stealth enemies in The Outlast Trials that easily sneak up behind you and strike.
Trickster Tricksters can create illusions to trick nearby players.

Prime Assets serve as the bosses of The Outlast Trials. There are three Prime Assets in the early access for the game, stalking one of the three maps.

Prime Asset Name What They Do
Leland Coyle This unhinged police officer carries around an electrified baton to shock people.
Mother Gooseberry This deranged former talk show host loves to cut the faces off of people. She carries a puppet with a drill named Dr. Futterman.
Prescott Whitehorn This Prime Asset is a towering man who attacks with a Sawed-off shotgun.
