Assuming you’re jumping into the series for the first time in Monster Hunter Wilds, you should know that the grind everyone talks about begins during the post-campaign portion of the game. While the main story is quite lengthy, and there’s a lot to do, the real fun starts once you finish everything and start working toward your weapons or armor sets. If you’re eager to know what awaits you, we’ve made a list of all the post-campaign unlocks in Monster Hunter Wilds.

New Monsters

This might be a very obvious thing, but it is worth mentioning. Once you jump to High Rank, new monsters will start appearing in all of the new areas. There are nine new monsters that join the roster, on top of some Frenzied and Tempered variants. You’ll need to face these monsters more than once if you want to craft the new Artian weapons, which also unlock during the post-campaign phase, or some of the rarest armor sets in the game.

Wounded Hollow Arena

Monster Hunter players know that an arena-like place is necessary, and Wilds has its own that you unlock during the post-campaign part. This arena is called Wounded Hollow, and it is a great place to hunt more than one monster at a time or even face some rare monsters that rotate from time to time. The hunts inside here are no joke, but if you’re facing two monsters, there’s an obvious fence you can use to separate them.

Other Notable Unlocks

While we decided to list the above two as the most important ones, here is everything you get after completing the campaign, which is at the end of Chapter 3.

  • High Rank hunts and environments.
  • Tempered and Frenzied monsters.
  • Armor sets and weapons of Rarity 5 to 8.
  • Three new story chapters.
  • Two new mantles.
  • New Seikret customization options.
  • New pendants.
  • Artian Weapons and materials.
  • Upgraded Smelting Foundry options.
  • Traders and gatherers in every zone.
  • A lot of side missions that unlock new Palico tools and support hunters.

As you can see, there are many things to do. However, keep in mind that facing some monsters will take a lot of time, so you better spend some time grinding for materials to create your ideal armor set and weapon. Other than that, have fun because Wilds has some of the best endgame activities we’ve seen in the franchise.
