Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has proven to be pretty darn difficult, so much so FromSoftware’s first balance patch (slightly) buffed the stat bonuses from Scadutree Fragments, making them even more worthwhile to find. And there are a lot in this land of shadow—50 fragments, to be specific. With all 50 Scadutree Fragments in Elden Ring, you can buff your “level” in the DLC up to 20, providing a boost to damage and damage negation.
Scadutree Fragment #1 and #2: Church of Consolation
From the Gravesite Plain site of grace, head east until you hit a dirt road. Follow it to find the Church of Consolation. You’ll find two Scadutree Fragments in front of the statue of Marika.
Scadutree Fragment #3: Outskirts of Scorched Ruins
From the Scorched Ruins site of grace, head east until you come to a small cemetery with a group of undead shadows. Kill the one with the sparkling pot on his head to gain another Scadutree Fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #4—#6: Outside Castle Ensis
Follow the road north from the Scorched Ruins, and you’ll find the Three-Path Cross site of grace and the first of Miquella’s Crosses on the side of the road. Grab the Scadutree Fragment from the cross, then head northeast and cross Ellac Greatbridge.
Just as you cross Ellac Greatbridge, but before you reach the Main Gate Cross site of grace, you’ll see a statue of Marika to your right and a Scadutree Fragment at the foot of the statue.
From Castle Front site of grace, follow the road southeast. When you reach a small Messmer encampment, ride past the wooden barricade, then make a slight detour to your left. You’ll see Miquella’s Cross in the distance.
Scadutree Fragment #7 and #8: Belurat
The first Scadutree Fragment is at the Main Gate Cross site of grace, by Miquella’s Cross. You’ll then have to progress through Belurat to the Small Private Altar site of grace.
From there, head up the first two flights of stairs and make a sharp right into the alley. It’ll take you to a small stream that ends in a waterfall. Enter the building to your right, just before you reach the waterfall and go up the ladder.
Leave the building and take the stairs up, then make a left down a flight of stairs and follow the path to the right. Ahead of you will be a massive room with two spider-scorpions. Look to the right of the doorway, and you’ll see a pile of rubble. Climb the rubble, enter the room, and follow it through to find Miquella’s Cross and another fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #9 and #10: Castle Ensis
Another Scadutree Fragment can be found at Miquella’s Cross, right next to the Castle Ensis Checkpoint site of grace. If you want the next Scadutree Fragment, you’ll either have to take the secret path under Castle Ensis to reach Highroad Cross site of grace or defeat Rellana.
Scadutree Fragment #11: North of Highroad Cross
From Highroad Cross site of grace, head north towards the Messmer encampment, towards the furnace golem in the distance. Just as you enter the camp, you’ll see a statue of Marika to your right. Grab the Scadutree Fragment before the furnace golem gives you the business, though if the statue is destroyed, you can still take the fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #12 and #13: Church of the Crusade
The Church of the Crusade is found by traveling northwest from the Highroad Cross site of grace, up the hill. You’ll see it peaking over the area; it’s very hard to miss. Two Scadutree Fragments are inside, at the foot of the statue of Marika.
Word of warning: you’ll be invaded by Fire-Knight Queelign, and he’ll use frenzied flame incantations against you. He can be zoned pretty easily with magic.
Scadutree Fragment #14—#17: Moorth Ruins
There are a total of four Scadutree Fragments that can be found in and around Moorth Ruins:
- Moorth Ruins site of grace: The item is by Miquella’s Cross.
- West of Moorth Ruins site of grace: You’ll find a small messmer encampment. At the center is a statue of Marika and another fragment.
- Small pond north of Moorth Ruins: Head north from the ruins to find a statue of Marika overlooking a pond. The fragment is at the base of the statue.
- Outskirts of Moorth Ruins: Just before you drop down into the hole leading to Bonny Village, circle the hole, and you’ll find an undead shadow with a sparkling pot.
Head south of the Moorth Ruins, and we’ll show you where to find another fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #18: Scaduview Cross
In order to reach the Scaduview Cross site of grace, and the Scadutree Fragment, start by:
- Traveling north from Moorth Highway, South site of grace and hugging the cliff to your right.
- Break the rock that’s sealing the spiritspring.
- Doubleback and use the spiritspring to access the plateau overlooking the Fort of Reprimand.
You’ll actually pass the spiritspring you’re supposed to use along the way, but it’ll be sealed.
Scadutree Fragment #19: Outside Prospect Town
From Cliffroad Terminus site of grace, ride southwest towards the cliffs, and you’ll come to a small cemetery. There’s an undead shadow with a sparkling pot on his head. Kill him for another fragment!
Scadutree Fragment #20 and #21: Golden Hippopotamus
After entering the Shadow Keep, be prepared because in the next room is the Golden Hippopotamus. You’ll have to defeat it if you want the next Scadutree Fragment in Elden Ring.
Scadutree Fragment #22: Storehouse, Fourth Floor
Afterwards, progress through the Shadow Keep, to the top of the castle. You’ll be led there naturally as you climb the steps higher and higher. Just before you reach the balcony that leads outside, you’ll come to the Storehouse, Fourth Floor site of grace and another of Miquella’s Crosses, along with another fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #23: Church District, Shadow Keep
From the Church District Entrance site of grace, climb across the rooftops to reach the sunken church at the end of the courtyard. Drop down through a hole in the roof, then drop a second time to the floor below.
Follow the hallway, and you’ll encounter a Fire Knight, who I highly recommend killing. You’ll also see a large statue of Marika, most of which is underwater, with the Scadutree Fragment in her left hand. You don’t have to drain the water, but it does make the jump easier.
Scadutree Fragment #24: Dark Chamber, Shadow Keep
As you ascend the Shadow Keep to the seventh floor, you’ll enter the Dark Chamber. That’s where you’ll find and fight Messmer the Impaler. Luckily, you can pick up the Scadutree Fragment just before you fight him. It’s on the way to his boss room, in front of a small stature of Marika.
Scadutree Fragment #25: Back Gate, Shadow Keep
This one is of the easiest Scadutree Fragments to find in Elden Ring. When you reach the Back Gate site of grace in the Shadow Keep, there’s a room right next to it with a beheaded statue of Marika. The fragment is at the base of the statue.
Also, if you have the “O Mother” gesture, you can gain access to the Hinterlands. There aren’t any Scadutree Fragments in the Hinterlands, but it does lead to the Finger Ruins of Dheo, a point of interest during Count Ymir’s questline.
Scadutree Fragment #26—#28: Recluses’ River
Upon reaching the Castle Watering Hole below the Shadow Keep, start following the Recluses’ River south to the very first waterfall. You’ll find the Recluses’ River Upstream site of grace as well as the first of three Scadutree Fragments in the area.
Continue further down (be careful; it’s treacherous) until the river splits into two. Follow the river on the right to safely reach the area down below. You’re then going to head east to find two hippos. Kill them to get a single fragment from each of them.
Scadutree Fragment #29 and #30: Cerulean Coast Cross
Following the Ellac River south takes you straight to the Cerulean Coast and to the first site of grace in the area. Simply travel south, past the dragon and the rubble, and you’ll find one of Miquella’s Crosses, along with another shard.
The other fragment can be found by traveling to the Cerulean Coast West site of grace and heading northeast, between the mountains above. It’ll lead straight to a cave that houses another fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #31: The Fissure
We’re not quite done with the Cerulean Coast just yet. You need to head to the southern tip of the coast, the furthest you can travel. You’ll come to a massive sinkhole called Fissure Cross. If you (carefully) descend down the hole, you’ll be taken into a hidden cave system. It’ll funnel you towards another of Miquella’s Crosses but, more importantly, a Scadutree Fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #32: Charon’s Hidden Grave
The last and final Scadutree Fragment in the Cerulean Coast is at Charon’s Hidden Grave. Unfortunately, there’s no way to get there from the coast, but instead, enter Dragon’s Pit from the Pillar Path Waypoint site of grace, pass the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion, and go to Charon’s Hidden Grave.
From the site of grace of the same name, head east to encounter another hippo. Kill it for your next fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #33: Jagged Peak
Since you’ve already been through Dragon’s Pit, you can make a beeline for the Jagged Peak and get yet another Scadutree Fragment. As you’re climbing towards the top, you’ll encounter a spiritspring, which leads you to a fight between two dragons. Ride past them and take the second and third spiritsprings up.
As soon as you land, stick to the mountains on the right, and you’ll come to a cave. Keep your eyes peeled because boulders will spawn from the cliff above. Ride up the hill, towards the boulders, and you’ll find the Scadutree Fragment on a corpse just below the cliff.
Scadutree Fragment #34—#37: Ancient Ruins of Rauh
In the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, there are four Scadutree Fragments to obtain in Elden Ring:
- Miquella’s Cross: As you exit the Ancient Ruins of Rauh to the pond below, there’s another of Miquella’s Crosses and the Rauh Ancient Ruins East site of grace.
- Undead Shadow Pot Enemy: From Miquella’s Cross, head back into the ruins, skipping the first spiritspring but taking the second one up. When you land, you’ll find an undead shadow with a sparkling pot.
- Hippo Enemy: Use the elevator located south of the Viaduct Minor Tower. When you exit the ruins, you’ll come to another pond
- Inside the western ruins: Enter the ruins near the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West site of grace. Climb both flights of stairs to a large room with an altar at the end.
The Ancient Ruins of Rauh overlook the Temple Town Ruins below. That’s your next target!
Scadutree Fragment #38: Temple Town Ruins
At the Temple Town Ruins, you’ll find a small fortress that appears to have no entrance. However, if you circle the walls, you’ll come to a hole in the wall. Now, walk up the steps and onto the roof of the tallest part of the fortress.
If you follow it to its end and look down, there’s a small ledge down below you can drop down to. Enter the nearby catwalk and loot the corpse for a Scadutree Fragment.
Starting from the Viaduct Minor Tower site of grace, go through the Ancient Ruins of Rauh until you reach the exit.
Scadutree Fragment #39—#41: Abyssal Woods
There are a total of three Scadutree Fragments in the Abyssal Woods. From the Forsaken Graveyard site of grace, hoof it south to the edge of the area where you’ll find the Abandoned Church. Two fragments are at the base of the altar. Oh, and the map fragment is just outside!
As for the remaining fragment, the best way to find it is by starting at the Abyssal Woods site of grace, which is west of the Woodland Trail site of grace. If you head northwest-ish, you’ll come to a tree and a corpse. The poor, dead fellow has the Scadutree Fragment.
Scadutree Fragment #42—#46: Scadutree Chalice
You can pick up a cluster of five Scadutree Fragments at the base of the Scadutree Chalice, located outside the Shadow Keep.
But here’s the catch: you can’t access the area until you’ve defeated Commander Gaius, and he does not play nice.
Scadutree Fragment #47—#49: Enir-Ilim
The next three fragments in Elden Ring are found in Enir-Ilim, the area leading up to the final boss.
- Spiral Rise: One of the first sites of grace you’ll unlock as you climb Enir-llim. The fragment is right next to the grace and another of Miquealla’s Crosses.
- Outer tower: Jump out the window on the second floor above the Spiral Rise site of grace, onto the rooftops. Follow them to reach a set of stairs that wraps around Enir-llim to a tower above and another fragment.
- Cleansing Chamber Anteroom: Exiting the room of the last fragment you picked up, run across the rooftops and enter the tower on the other side. Follow the tower up, and it’ll take you straight to the site of grace and a fragment.
Now, technically there’s a fourth fragment associated with Enir-llim, but it deserves its own section because of its tricky nature.
Scadutree Fragment #50: Enir-llim, Belurat
To get the final Scadutree Fragment in Elden Ring, you start from Enir-llim and eventually end up in Belurat. You can’t access the area from below, only from above.
- Leave the Spiral Rise site of grace and take the stairs down to the first landing.
- Go down the steps on the left that take you underneath the main stairway, drop down to a separate set of stairs, then drop down again when you see the gap in the railing.
- Walk along the architecture of Enir-llim until you get to another drop. Keep following along around the corner and jump to the nearby ledge. Go up the tower and jump down, then snake your way around and jump down again to another set of stairs.
- At the end of the stairs is a broken landing, but if you look down, you’ll see a window. Jump down into the window and you’ll be in Belurat. Leave the room and grab the fragment from the altar on your left.
And folks, that’ll be your 50th and final Scadutree Fragment in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. If you’re short a fragment, double-check you’ve killed the undead shadows with the pots on their head. Those tend to give players trouble!
