Genshin Impact 4.0 update adds a new, unique resource called Strange Part that’s popping up all over Fontaine. This item is necessary for completing a quest but can also be traded for other items with the Melusine. Finding these Parts can be pretty hard, though, if you don’t know where to start. You don’t have to worry, because this Genshin Impact guide will explain everything about Strange Part and all the locations to find it.
Strange Part Use in Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact 4.0 update, Strange Part is used to repair Seymour during the “Ancient Colors” quest chain. You can also trade some items from Xana in Merusea Village using Strange Parts:

- Enigmatic Page (XIII): Strange Part x1
- Guide to Equity x2: Strange Part x2
- Meshing Gear x10: Strange Part x1
- Rift Core x10: Strange Part x1
- Romaritime Flowerx 10: Strange Part x1
- Transoceanic Pearl x10: Strange Part x1
Xana will only appear once you have finished the “Blue Longing of Heart and Moon” Quest then speak to Serene.

Genshin Impact Strange Part Locations: Obtained From Chests
- Chest #1:
- Start the “Book of Esoteric Revelations” Quest
- Head northeast, deeper into the cave
- You should find a Common Chest. Open it for a Strange Part
- Chest #2:
- Start the “A Lonely Place” Quest
- Near a shipwreck, complete a Miraculous Hydrograna puzzle
- Doing so will spawn an Exquisite Chest containing a Strange Part
- Chest #3:
- Go to Mamere’s house in the Merusea Village
- Head north and dive into the water
- Look for a shiny spot near a shipwreck, and use the Conch to investigate it
- Beat some enemies and this will spawn another Exquisite Chest. Open it for another Strange Part in Genshin Impact 4.0 update
