Strongholds are one type of content in Diablo 4 that’s essential to clear, especially at the start of a new season. These are bastions for demonic forces and even carry a bit of lore with them too, like Tur Dulra. Unlike dungeons, you only have to complete Strongholds once per season, and you really should. Behind every Stronghold isn’t just loot, but access to content that’s necessary for finishing your class build in Diablo 4, so you’ll definitely be needing their locations.

Is Completing Strongholds Worth It?
Yes, absolutely! It’s definitely worth the effort, not for the rewards or even to gain Renown, but for the dungeons. There are several dungeons that are inaccessible until after you’ve cleared the Stronghold, not to mention:
Dungeons are how you unlock numerous Aspects
You can’t use a Nightmare Sigil for a dungeon you don’t have access to
Obviously, having access to dungeons and their respective Nightmare versions is essential, but having more waypoints makes life so much easier. It makes traveling far more efficient, and in Diablo 4, efficiency is king. These little hubs also tend to have smiths and stashes for breaking down gear and storing your hard-earned loot.
