Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed DLC adds a brand new combination attack called Unity Pairing. This fusion move lets party members access their powerful Unity Skills and Unity Combos. Unity Skills will give either all teammates or specific Pairing buffs. Meanwhile, Unity Combos are special moves that can inflict Smash, Burst, or Blowdown effects. Only three default Pairings are available at the beginning of the DLC though; Shulk + Rex, Matthew + A, and Nikol + Glimmer.
However, after beating the Moebius W boss, you can create more combinations between those six characters. Do remember that the effects of Unity Skills and Unity Combos can be increased by collecting Lessons in Unity books.

A Unity Pairing Combination
A and Glimmer:
- Unity Skill: Demon’s Gate
- Slows down debuffs duration timers on all enemies by 25%.
- Unity Combo: Blast Slash
- Deals huge damage to the enemy, inflicting Smash.
A and Matthew:
- Unity Skill: Mighty Link
- Boosts the effect of Art with each different Art used within a set time.
- Unity Combo: Mega Crash
- Deals huge damage to enemies in range, inflicting Blowdown.
A and Nikol:
- Unity Skill: Heat Haze
- Gives a 10% chance to evade enemy attack.
- Unity Combo: Ether Slash
- Deals huge damage to the enemy, inflicting Smash.
A and Rex:
- Unity Skill: Cleave Heaven and Earth
- Damage dealt against Toppled and Launched enemies increased by 100%.
- Unity Combo: Slash Bomb
- Deals huge damage to the enemy, inflicting Burst.
A and Shulk:
- Unity Skill: Passage of Fate
- Increases all teammates’ Accuracy and Evasion by 10%. Does not stack.
- Unity Combo: Double Cyclone
- Deals huge damage to enemies in range, inflicting Blowdown.

Glimmer and A:
- Unity Skill: Demon’s Gate

- Increases teammates’ Critical Rate by 10% and Critical Hit damage by 25%. Does not stack.

Glimmer and Shulk:
- Unity Skill: Promised Land
- Prolongs the duration of buffs for all party members by 25%. Does not stack.
- Unity Combo: Flame Slash

The Best Unity Pairings in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed
Glimmer and Rex’s Divine Blades is a no-brainer. Their Critical buff is extremely huge and can easily break the game. Matthew and Shulk’s First and Foremost is also great to clear up random encounters faster.
On the other hand, Matthew and Nikol’s Mighty Amp buffs can push Rex’s damage to his limits. Making it an excellent offensive buff. Matthew and Rex’s Mega Smash Unity Combo is also an interesting choice since they can deal double Smash. At the end of the day, utilizing which Unity Pairing combinations you should use in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is up to your playstyle.
