Even with continued updates, all the Villager jobs and job blocks in Minecraft remain across the biomes. Without these passive mobs and their occupations, you can lack access to necessities like food, armor, and weapons. Villages are fun to visit once away from your unique Minecraft constructions for a while. If they’re employed, you can get what you need from them. But note that there are also variants of Villagers like Zombie Villagers, Witches, and more. For now, let’s discuss all the available jobs and what job blocks you need for them.
All Villager Jobs (& Job Blocks) In Minecraft
As we mentioned, Villagers are among the passive mobs in the game. Generally, they are the same. Their clothing style can differ slightly based on their occupation and the biome they are in. Below we will cover all Villager jobs available in Minecraft. We will not include non-trade jobs like Unemployed or Nitwit as they require no job blocks.
You can always change the Unemployed Villagers into something else. However, Nitwits are unable to acquire jobs. Their only use is to breed.
Let’s get into all of the trading professions in the game:
- Armorer
- Butcher
- Cartographer
- Cleric
- Farmer
- Fisherman
- Fletcher
- Leatherworker
- Librarian
- Mason
- Shepherd
- Toolsmith
- Weaponsmith

How To Get Villager Jobs in Minecraft
It is straightforward to assign Villagers their jobs. All you need are the Job Blocks you explained above. You can craft and place certain Job Blocks near Unemployed Villagers to assign them professions. They will automatically get the job as there is nothing more you need to do. As the Unemployed seek work, the employed Villagers use these blocks to refresh their trade.
