Throne and Liberty takes a classless approach to its gameplay and instead allows players to pick between seven weapons to wreak havoc, and you know what that means: a tier list is required. With two active weapons at a time, it is important to know which combos are better. Furthermore, with the big difference between PvE and PvP, some might perform better than others in certain scenarios. To help you narrow down your choices, we’ve prepared a quick tier list, especially for new players who are struggling to pick their armaments in Throne and Liberty.
PvP Tier List
Let’s start with the mode that many might be delving into. Since there’s a lot of large-scale player-versus-player content, and you might want to join that conundrum eventually, knowing which weapons perform better is crucial. Some might lean toward melee combat, others toward a ranged style, and others a mix of both. To help you, here are the ones that are performing better and the ones that don’t do so well.
Rank | Weapon(s) |
---|---|
S | Dagger |
A | Greatsword, Sword and Shield, Crossbow |
B | Longbow, Wand |
C | Staff |
So far, Dagger is the best weapon for PvP in Throne and Liberty and one that might occupy the highest spot in tier lists in the foreseeable future. The reason why Dagger is there is because of how versatile it is. It hits hard and fast and has a lot of DoT capabilities on top of crowd-control effects. It is truly a jack-of-all-trades weapon, and most of its skills allow players to move swiftly across the battlefield.
Recommended combos: Dagger/Greatsword, Dagger/Crossbow
In the case of the Greatsword, Sword and Shield, and Crossbow, they are extremely useful, but some might take an off-hand approach. For example, the Greatsword has a lot of damage output but lacks utility. Sword and Shield are the best at survivability but lack damage. Crossbow is great, but its skills might take a bit to get into. Still, with some proper builds, all of them can shield without an issue.
Recommended combos: Greatsword/Dagger, Greatsword/Sword and Shield, Dagger/Crossbow, Sword and Shield/Wand
Moving on to Longbow and Wand, these are not entirely bad, but lack some of the passive skills other weapons possess. Also, these two usually work better as off-hands. Usually, people will run a tank build with Sword and Shield, and have the Wand as the secondary weapon. Longbow is great, but it isn’t the best as a main weapon as its damage isn’t quite high.
Recommended combos: Crossbow/Longbow, Wand/Sword and Shield, Longbow/Dagger, Wand/Staff
Ultimately, Wand is at the end of the list for one specific reason: it is the healer weapon, and most prefer to do damage in PvP scenarios. It isn’t bad and will provide sustain for your teammates, but not many will use it and opt for a more hands-on approach when facing other players.
Recommended combos: Wand/Staff, Wand/Sword and Shield, Wand/Longbow
PvE Tier List
Rank | Weapon(s) |
---|---|
S | Dagger |
A | Crossbow, Wand, Staff |
B | Greatsword, Longbow |
C | Sword and Shield |
When it comes to the PvE Tier List in Throne and Liberty, the Dagger is still one of the best weapons. Anywhere you look at it, this one is also great for single-target damage and excellent passives. You’ll need another solid secondary weapon, but even the Dagger as an off-hand can do wonders.
Recommended combos: Dagger/Crossbow, Dagger/Greatsword, Dagger/Staff
The ones that climb the ranks are Wand and Staff, while Crossbow is still a solid choice. Wand is the ultimate sustain weapon, and those aspiring to be Tanks of Healers must use it. Staff climbs considerably as it offers a lot of AoE skills, which are great in PvE content. Lastly, the Crossbow is still the go-to ranged option and one that has many good builds.
Recommended combos: Crossbow/Dagger, Crossbow/Longbow, Staff/Crossbow, Staff/Dagger, Wand/Sword and Shield, Wand/Staff
The Greatsword and Longbow aren’t bad by any means, but lack a lot if not paired with the right weapon. Greatsword is a bit more useful in PvP, but it’s damage output is still something players should consider in PvE, especially if paired with Dagger. Longbow is on the same boat where it can be a main hand weapon, but needs a strong support like, you guessed it, Dagger.
Recommended combos: Longbow/Crossbow, Longbow/Dagger, Greatsword/Dagger, Greatsword/Crossbow
Last but not least, we have Sword and Shield. This isn’t a bad weapon if you’re running with a group. When it comes to tanking, you can go wrong with the good old shield. However, it doesn’t bring a lot of damage, so certain players, especially those playing solo won’t benefit much from this.
Recommended combos: Sword and Shield/Greatsword, Sword and Shield/Wand
Ultimately, you’re free to pick whichever weapon you want in Throne of Liberty, regardless of how high or low they are on a tier list. While this is something that might guide you through the early hours, the game’s meta is always changing and you might have to adapt to it. Yet, if you prefer to follow a certain style or stick with your favorite weapons, that’s complete fine, too.
