When a man named Art took his Ferrari out for a spin in Ohio, he came across some young boys who were more than impressed. They were having some fun and he revved the engine so the boys could hear it in action, but was suddenly interrupted by a Karen in the wild.
After having shown off the power of his Ferrari, Art (TikTok/Artisfast_giveaways) shows in his TikTok video a woman approaching him in the parking lot, who was very bothered by the noise and. In the midst of her complaining, one of the teen boys tells her, “He was just revving it for us. He was going slow; he wasn’t speeding or anything. He just wanted to make a sound.”
While she’s listening to the boy, she’s around the vehicle and nodding her head, which Art attributes to drunkenness and accuses her of being under the influence. “How much did you drink today, Karen? You can’t even stand straight.” She brushes that off, arguing it’s because her “legs are long.”
The woman then asks Art probing questions, such as how long Art’s been living in the neighborhood. She’s been there 21 years; Art’s lived there for a decade. One of the teens asks her, “Do you own the neighborhood? Are you the homeowner’s association?” She tells him there is no HOA in this neighborhood but the teen demands to know why she thinks she owns the area. As she tries to argue with him about the noise, one of them asks, “So what’s the conflict here?”
At this point, Art is finished with the conversation and tells her she’ll “go viral” because he’s been recording the entire confrontation. She approaches him and gets in his face, saying, “I can’t wait.” But the teen boy who had defended Art tells the woman Art was “trying to make him happy.”
By the end, Art shows in his video the police arriving. “Oh yeah. She called the police,” he says. The video ends there, so we never know how the issue got resolved amongst the two adults.
The reaction to Art’s TikTok video
Unsurprising, the comments left on Art’s TikTok video were pretty cold towards the Karen. Additionally, they gave a lot of praise towards the kids, one of whom handled the confrontation very well and kept his cool.
One commenter claiming to be a teacher wrote, “As a junior high teacher I would just like to say this kid’s conflict resolution skills are remarkable for his age. 👏🏼” Others were impressed he knew what an HOA was.
Another commenter defended Art online, saying, “There are no laws against revving an engine. You’re free to not like it but there’s nothing you can do about it.” However, this started a thread. Several viewers stated there was in fact a law, but one that isn’t enforced often.
Many had the same idea, that whatever the problem was, it wasn’t worth complaining about. More importantly, it wasn’t worth wasting a police officer’s time, either.
