Amanda Bynes Hospitalized For Mental Condition
A mental health team placed Amanda Bynes on psychiatric hold after she was found roaming the streets naked and alone.
An eyewitness told TMZ they saw Amanda walking near downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning without any clothes.
The source said that Amanda waved a car down, telling the driver she was regaining her senses after the psychosis. Amanda herself then called 911.
According to the news outlet, law enforcement took the 36-year-old to a nearby police station. There, a mental health team determined she needed to be placed on a 5150 psych hold.
Sources said Amanda didn’t seem to have been hurt during the ordeal. They also revealed that things could’ve been much worse given the area where she was found.
Another source close to the She’s the Man actress revealed that Amanda Bynes is hospitalized. They added that she would likely remain in care for several days beyond the usual 72 hours.
Amanda Bynes Recently Terminated Conservatorship
Amanda’s recent psychosis episode occurred almost one year to the day when her 9-year conservatorship was officially terminated.
The Sydney White star’s mother was her conservator starting in 2013 when her mental health became obvious.
A psychiatrist eventually diagnosed her with bipolar disorder. After a series of bizarre incidents and several run-ins with police, she ended up in a psychiatric ward for treatment.
Amanda also previously admitted she was “on drugs” during her headline-making behavior.
The court terminated Amanda’s conservatorship in March 2022 after she “provided facts that the conservatorship is no longer needed.” A source told ET that her parents supported the end of the conservatorship.
Since the conservatorship ended, Amanda seemed to be doing well for herself. However, the recent incident makes it unclear if her parents or legal team will step in. Hopefully, Amanda will recover soon.
