Nowadays, gyms are establishments where all sorts of wild things happen. From people getting angry when you block their video to strange exercise routines, and even encounters with the police. The latter occurred in Amarillo, Texas, where a gym member was preparing to fight a cop, only to get tased on the spot. At first, it may seem like the gym member was just trying to engage the police officer without reason, but it turns out the man had a violent history in the establishment already.
The original video is from Instagram user @jrewretro, who shared a few months ago on their personal account. Yet, it resurfaced on the r/instant_regret subreddit. According to them, this happened in Crunch Fitness, in Amarillo, Texas. The video only shows the gym member trying to fight the cop, but in truth, there’s a story behind everything.
Apparently, the man who was arrested that day, was kicked out of the gym a day before. According to the gym’s staff, the man who was arrested punched someone the day before. For this reason, the staff removed the man’s membership. However, he came back to the establishment. Since the man, whose name is Dave Jones, according to CBS Austin, refused to leave, the gym called the police. Jones tried to push the police officer, which led to him being tased.
Some people on Reddit talked about how ridiculous it is for a person to try and engage an armed police officer.
It’s like when Indiana Jones pulled a gun and on that swordsman.

Others talked about the lack of intelligence the gym member showed when trying to fight the cop.

In the end, it seems that Jones was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. However, there isn’t more information about how the case unfolded after what occurred in the gym. In any case, the moral of the story is, “never try to fight a cop, especially if they have a taser.”
