Sharon Taylor has been officially added to the Amazon original series Cross, starring Aldis Hodge (Leverage: Redemption) as leading man Alex Cross. Sharon Taylor has been added to the upcoming series amidst a recent re-casting, replacing Karen LeBlanc as Lt. Oracene Massey after LeBlanc exited the role due to apparent schedule conflicts.

Based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross series, the Amazon original series Cross features Aldis Hodge, known for his role as hacker and genius Alec Hardison in Leverage and Leverage: Redemption, as Alex Cross, a forensic psychologist and detective with a unique ability to dig into the minds of criminals to identify and catch the killers. Described as “brilliant, flawed, and full of contradictions”, Alex is a doting father with a single-minded obsession to catch criminals and a man who was left damaged by his wife’s death.

Sharon Taylor Replaces Karen LeBlanc in ‘Cross’ for Amazon

Sharon Taylor will star as Lt. Oracene Massey, Cross’ boss at the Metro PD. Deadline describes her as “a tireless self-promoter who understands that advancement doesn’t always have anything to do with catching the bad guys, but with pleasing those higher up.” Ginny & Georgia star Karen LeBlanc was originally cast in the role in December 2022, but recently exited the role due to scheduling conflicts. The details of her exit are unknown, but it left the role open for Sharon Taylor, who has most recently starred as Shelbey Glass in the Nancy Drew series on CW.

Some of Taylor’s other roles include Dr. Lily Winkler on The Good Doctor for ABC and Liv for Fire Country on CBS.

Cross will also star Jennifer Wigmore as Chief Anderson, Samantha Walkes as Ellie Monteiro, and Juanita Jennings as Regina ‘Nana Mama’ Cross, Alex’s grandmother and the Cross family matriarch. Caleb Elijah and Melody Hurd will be starring as Damien and Janelle Cross, Alex’s two children.
