Amazon Prime Day is coming. The second annual sale, exclusive to Amazon Prime members, arrives Tuesday, July 12th, and lasts all day. Last year’s massive sale was generally a success, although some disappointing items and lack of stock caused some customer complaints. Amazon has been slowly releasing information on a few of the deals we can expect to see, and where the general emphasis of this sale will be.
Prime Day this year will focus on TVs and toys. A graphic on their Facebook page promises “Members will find toy deals nearly all Prime Day,” as well as “Nearly 2x the TVs compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday COMBINED,” (their emphasis). Although these phrases definitely use that magical advertisement speak that can literally mean anything, hopefully, they learned from last year’s Prime Day and have a few better options for customers.
CNET released information on a few of the deals customers can expect to see on July 12th. An Amazon Fire Tablet will cost you $35 (normally $50). The Segway Minipro Hoverboard will be discounted $200, down to $799. No discount for that item will let you buy back your dignity, however. At least this is not the one that spontaneously combusts. LSTN Cherrywood Headphones and The Orca Men’s Wooden Watch are also being teased with heavy discounts. Over the course of the day, Amazon promises over 100,000 deals.
Amazon Prime currently costs $99 per year. Prime Day is July 12th, and the deals apply to any current Prime subscriber in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Belgium, and Austria.
