October is gearing up to be a horrific delight for horror and gamer fans alike. Frictional Games announced in a new trailer that Amnesia: Rebirth,ย would launch for PC and PlayStation 4 this October.

In the newest addition to the Amnesiaย family, the narrative focuses on Tasi Trianon after waking up, lost and alone, in the Algerian Dessert. As if the harsh environment wasn’t enough, Tasi is stalked by a creature that is hungry for her terror and pain.ย  “Time is against you. Step into Tasiโ€™s shoes and guide her through her personal terror and pain. While you struggle to make your way through a desolate landscape, you must also struggle with your own hopes, fears, and bitter regrets. And still you must continue, step by step, knowing that if you fail you will lose everything.”

Amnesia: Rebirth - Release Date Reveal Trailer

Thomas Grip, creative director at Frictional Games, commented onย Amnesia: Rebirth and how it differs from other games in the franchise:

Amnesia is not just another haunted house spook-fest, but an emotionally harrowing journey. We aim to go beyond simple jump-scares and to affect players on a deeper level. While Rebirth will contain the terrifying encounters and sights you expect from an Amnesia game, it has a lot more focus on narrative than previous entries in the series. We want the player to form a strong bond with Tasi and intimately share her tribulations. This will not be your run-of-the-mill horror experience.

Amnesia: Rebirth is set to release October 20th, 2020, on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders are available now through all of the outlets listed above for $39.99.
