Amy Schumer’s Ozempic experience didn’t go so well. While appearing on The Howard Stern Show this week, the comedian confirmed she once used the weight loss drug three years ago. Although she achieved impressive results, Schumer admitted it wasn’t worth it. Why? Well, apparently, it made her so sick she felt like she was “shriveling away.”

Amy Schumer’s Ozempic Experience Made Her Vomit

Howard Stern was the first to bring up the topic. “I f*cking hate Ozempic,” he said, before pressing Amy Schumer about her own “horrible experience” with the drug.

The Trainwreck star confirmed she was miserable on the medication. “I have this gene, GDF 15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea,” she said. Schumer revealed her condition made her “so sick” during her pregnancy, and a similar thing happened while she was taking Ozempic. “I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like bedridden,” she said. “I was vomiting.”

She felt so unlike herself that she couldn’t play with her son, Gene, whom she shares with her husband, Chris Fischer. “I’m in bed and my son’s like, ‘Can you play tag?’ I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ I was shriveling away,” she recalled. The actress gave birth to the couple’s only child in May 2019, so he would have been about three years old when Schumer was on Ozempic.

While having an upset stomach was bad enough, that wasn’t the only downside of Amy Schumer’s Ozempic experience. She also felt extreme fatigue. “You have no energy,” she added. “But other people take it and they’re all good. So, God bless them.”

Despite experiencing all of these horrible side effects, Schumer confirmed the medication did work. “I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great,” she said.

However, she still wouldn’t take it again. “I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So what’s the point?” she said.

Celebrities Turn to Weight Loss Drugs

Amy Schumer is just one of the celebrities who’ve used Ozempic. James Corden, Sharon Osbourne, and Chelsea Handler have also admitted to using the medication. Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg and Kelly Clarkson have turned to other weight loss drugs on the market.

Since Ozempic has taken over Hollywood, many celebrities have been accused of turning to the drug to achieve fast results. For example, Ice Spice was rumored to have used Ozempic after being praised for her impressive figure last year. However, the rapper confirmed her weight loss was due to working out.

Lizzo and Christina Aguilera have also experienced similar accusations following their dramatic weight losses.
