Andy Cohen is the face behind Bravo TV’s popular series, The Real Housewives. Since its inception in 2006, there have been several iterations around the world. Some of the most beloved casts live in Orange County, Atlanta, Beverly Hills, and, of course, Salt Lake City. The latter premiered in the 2020s and hit the ground running. The first season featured over-the-top characters, including the always loud and obnoxious Jen Shah.
At first, fans were in love with the character because she brought so much drama to the TV screen. But as Season 2 was underway, and watchers learned she’d been indicted for leading a nationwide telemarketing scheme, their feelings changed. Eventually, the reality star was sentenced to several years in prison, and after Season 3, the Bravosphere hasn’t heard much from her.
At Bravo Fan Fest, Deadline spoke with Andy Cohen about the possibility of Jen ever returning. After all, she did help jumpstart the Salt Lake City series and brought tons of eyes. Plus, her federal case had pop culture fans everywhere speaking her name. However, Andy isn’t too worried about that, considering the cast of RHOSLC has continued delivering powerhouse seasons without her. “I mean, Jen is incarcerated. I don’t know when she’s getting out, so I think that seems off the table,” he said.
Real Housewives Ep Hopes Monica Garcia Can Make a Comeback in the Future
Although Andy Cohen doesn’t seem hopeful about Jen Shah’s return to The Real Housewives, that doesn’t mean he’s against returns in general. In fact, the executive producer told Deadline there’s another SLC lady he’d be happy to welcome back to the franchise later down the road.
“I’m a big Monica fan,” he said.
In case you need a refresher, Monica appeared on the show during Season 4. She had an explosive season, and fans loved her. However, she turned the cast away from her when it was revealed that she led the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease. This social media page targeted several of the ladies behind an anonymous page for years. Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, and Meredith Marks confronted her during their cast trip, which ended with tears and Garcia being sent home early.
Consequently, Monica wasn’t asked back for Season 5. But Andy isn’t completely turned off by the idea.
“I think that’s kind of a conversation for the future. We’re in the middle of an incredibly successful season right now, and I wouldn’t want to take away from the great work these women [who are on the cast have done] by speculating.”
Despite that, Monica fans can still see more of her on NBC. The reality TV villain is currently voicing “Eva 2.0” in Season 2 of House of Villains, which airs on E!. She appears alongside reality veterans New York Pollard, Larsa Pippen, and Teresa Giudice. Although she’s not in the actual competition, it’s still pleasing to get a little Monica every now and then.
