Angel Reese fans are slamming Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal after his interesting comments on her podcast. On the October 24 episode of the Unapologetically Angel show, Shaq discussed how he believed the WNBA and its players could make more money. He said the league should consider lowering the rim so that players could dunk. “Bro, a pretty girl dunking on the rim? I am watching that all day,” he said. “It’s about seeing things you aren’t supposed to see.”
Later, the conversation circled back to women dunking, and that’s when Shaq made a wild assertion. “Imagine you in them same little ass shorts you had on at the Wild N’ Out show dunking,” he said. “You know how many t-shirts you ‘gon sell?” He continued, repeating his original statement, saying, “Those same little ass shorts. … bro.”
Angel Has Everybody Talking
Shaq isn’t the only person making out-of-pockets about Angel Reese. New York City rapper Joe Budden spoke about the WNBA star on his podcast, too. According to him, Reese is too worried about being seen rather than focusing on getting better like Caitlin Clark.
When Joe’s co-hosts asked if he’d seen Angel on Wild N’ Out, he let them have it.
“I’ve seen Angel Reese wildin’ out; I don’t know if I’ve seen her on Wild N’ Out,” he said. “Angel Reese won’t sit her f*cking a*s down. She won’t go sit down somewhere for a second. There’s value in it.”
“Whoever [Angel] got is telling her to go pop up everywhere… that’s not what Caitlin Clark’s people are saying,” he continued. “Not to make it a race thing… we just on some star rookie sh*t now.”
“All season, [Reese] keep[s] putting [her]self in the same box as Caitlin Clark, but there’s more than basketball,” he said. “It’s more than this.”
Additionally, the Chicago Sky star, who led the league in doubles-doubles during the 2024 season, recently had people worried about her finances. After joking on Instagram Live that she couldn’t afford her bills due to her annual $74,000 salary, social media users had to make their voice heard.
Days later, Reese announced her extension with Reebok Basketball and signature shoe, which will release in 2026.
Angel Reese Fans Are Disturbed by Shaquille’s Comments
After social media users posted the clip of Shaq talking about Angel’s shorts, users spoke about how disturbing the moment was.
“I’m glad people are recognizing Shaq’s creepy and perverted behavior,” one user wrote on X/Twitter. “[Angel] can dress sexy and still not want to be sexually harassed.” Another user called the NBA star’s remarks “disgusting,” noting his previous comments where he referred to her as a “daughter.” A third user wrote about the 30-year-age gap between the two and how O’Neal’s comments could’ve broken Angel’s trust.
“Shaq is 52 years old. Angel Reese is 22 years old. U can tell Angel feels betrayed. She thought Shaq was gonna be more like family [and] realizing he just another lonely perv. F**kin disgusting.”
Neither Angel or Shaq have spoken publicly about his comments going viral and sparking controversy. However, with their close working relationship and bond, it likely won’t be long before someone addresses the noise. Perhaps Angel will mention it all it on the next episode of her podcast.
