A woman sitting on a New Jersey train made a scene after she was confronted about using a seat as a footrest, which disrupted another passenger’s trip. With security at the scene, she tried to play victim and said that the man had assaulted her, to no avail.
The video was uploaded by Instagram user travel_with_hulda (Hulda), who was on a New Jersey Transit train at the time of the incident. From the get-go, the woman in question (from now on, the Karen) is already melting down after not only the gentleman in front of her has complained about her footrest tendencies, but also the rest of the passengers near her.
Seeing as her rude behavior was being exposed, the Karen decided to play the victim. She alleged that the man had assaulted her. In general, that’s a serious accusation that should not be taken lightly. However, everyone around her dismissed her claim. Apparently, she said that the man in front of her had moved her feet.
The baseless accusation was met with universal panning. Other passengers were calling her a liar and were also fed up with the delay. A security officer was also trying to defuse the situation, and everyone around them was urging the woman to get off the train so they could continue their trips.
As the Karen was blamed by every living soul in the train, and after she accused the man of assaulting her one last time, she finally grabbed her things, stood up, and left the train. Everyone was immediately relieved, and other standing passengers were able to take a seat.
Karen Draws Backlash
On her Instagram post, Hulda blasted the Karen for her false accusation. She did so especially because she is White and the man is Black.
“If this were a different time in history, a man could have been lynched over the kind of language you chose to use,” Hulda wrote. “That’s how powerful your words are. That’s how much harm they’ve done to the black community for generations.”
Users, similarly to Hulda, bashed the woman online for her infuriating behavior. One user wrote, “To the people shaming her, thank you.” Another one said, “We just witnessed a Professional Victim in the wild.” A third one added, “The scariest thing in America, a White woman with tears.”
Hopefully, the woman will learn the lesson after her antics were exposed online. Chances are, however, that she will not.
