The political climate in America isn’t exactly the best right now. People keep disagreeing on whether they support Trump or not and arguments happen because of that. One Kentucky author got angry as a Trump supporter told her they were a fan of her work. The author, Emily Rath, made sure to make it clear that she was anti-Trump. In her response video, she slammed the Trump supporter for saying that they support her just like they support Trump. The now-deleted video gained a lot of attention and it was stitched by several people who responded to it as well. Many people decided to buy the Kentucky author’s books just because of her response.
In the video, one TikTok user wrote a comment under one of the author’s videos where they said, “As a Trump aupporter [sic], I love your books. Not all of us are horrible.” The author’s response could simply be described as agitated. “You can support him all you want,” she says. “You can love my books, I guess. I don’t understand what you see in them frankly. I don’t understand what you can see in them seeing as every single one of my characters across every book in my entire canon is anti-Trump. There is anti-Trump as me,” she continues. The woman stitching the video then says, “Dr. Rath, I wasn’t aware of your game. I’m so sorry.”
People Reacting to the Kentucky Author’s Outburst
Following what the Kentucky author says in the video, thousands of people left comments supporting how she dragged the Trump supporter. Many of them even declared that they would start buying her books because of that. Even the woman stitching the video filmed herself while she went and picked one of the Kentucky author’s books.
“Okay, Dr. Emily Rath, let me go ahead and buy a couple of your books,” one person wrote. Another said, “Declaring all of your characters canonically anti trump is such a power move tbh.” The comments kept dragging Trump supporters like the one who left the original comment. One TikTok user wrote, “plenty of trump supporters consume media, but don’t realize they would be the villains in all content.”
One even pointed out how the Kentucky author doesn’t want people to separate her from her books. “she’s really saying ‘I will make it impossible for y’all to separate me from my work’ what a queen.” Those who were already familiar with the Kentucky author’s books made sure to point out how good her books are. “All of her books are excellent, and she’s a double PhD in political science,” one person wrote. Another said, “Literally obsessed with De Emily Rath. Her books are my comfort books!” It’s a good thing that she is standing for what she believes in without worrying about giving her honest opinion. Even after her reaction to the comment, she gained a lot of followers and people promising to buy her books.
