A TikTok video that has been going viral on the platform shows a New Jersey electronic repair shop having the police called on them because the customer didn’t agree with what they had to say about their warranty.
The video’s comment section quickly filled with people sharing their opinions on the situation and the twist it takes once officers officially arrive on scene. The conversation in the comments also raises a different concern: never knowing exactly who you are talking to when you’re dealing with a stranger.
The TikTok video takes place inside a Digital Doctor Electronic Repairs location in New Jersey. The shop is well known for its online content, which often features customers bringing in items for repair, followed by the repair and return.
This time, things took a bit of a turn when two customers, a younger man and an older man, came in to express a problem. It isn’t clear exactly why the customers came in, but the shop owner made it clear that the issue wouldn’t be covered under the warranty because it explicitly excludes fall or water damage.
Both the customers and the employee continued to deliberate before the argument escalated, resulting in the latter asking the former to leave. The customer appeared angry about this and said, “How about you call the cops and we can deal with them.”
After continuous back and forth between the older gentleman and the employee, it appears that the two customers decided to leave. It is unclear exactly what point in the timeline this happens, but there is a clip of a different customer who was associated with the two opening up the store door and yelling “[EXPLETIVE] YOU” to the employees inside.
The police must have been called anyway because two officers arrive shorly aftewards. This problem likely has happened in the past because both the officer and the employee greeted one another by name. Fortunately, the whole ordeal was caught on the camera that the employee appears to be wearing.
Reactions to New Jersey Man Yelling at Electronic Repair Shop Employee
Commenters were quick to latch onto the twist of the police officer being on a first-name basis with the employee. The top comment reads, ““what’s up Zach” yea wrap it up.” In a similar vein, a different commenter wrote, “I know that cop is still rocking a complimentary screen protector.”
Other comments were more focused on the customer’s behavior before and during the incident, with one reading, “I’m a silent watcher but this PMO so bad, Leo is the sweetest and kindest person ever and helps everyone. Genuinely a man of integrity.“
The store itself has not commented on the situation. However, as the video continues to go viral on TikTok, the creator is replying to comments and adding to the discourse.
