He’s gonna take you back to the past. To view the bad game art that sucks… you get it. James Rolfe, perhaps better known as the Angry Video Game Nerd, is counting down the days until Christmas by presenting a series of videos, in which he critiques bad video game cover art.

The videos are viewable on the Nerd’s Cinemassacre channel and Youtube. Each day, he will release another video examining a different piece of cover art. Pro Wrestling, Mega Man, Shatterhand, and Action Fighter were his first four victims.

The Bad Game Cover Art series is a slight departure from the Angry Video Game Nerd’s usual routine of actually playing the games to review them. Instead, he reviews the cover art in short, two to three minute, videos as his real self, James Rolfe. The Nerd character, occasionally, breaks the surface for a few seconds to deliver his typical comic profanity, but the anger is generally kept to a minimum as it is unnecessary for the purposes of the satire.

For those of you who miss the Angry Video Game Nerd’s true gameplay reviews and filthy mouth, Rolfe does state in the first video that, “you will see a new Nerd episode in time for Christmas.” Which game he will review is unknown, nor is the planned release date of the episode. Until then, Rolfe’s sarcastic remarks interspersed with perfectly valid criticisms are definitely worth listening too.
