In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, mushrooms are just like fish in which there are many types to find to craft recipes and sell for Bells, but no mushrooms give as many Bells as Rare Mushrooms. As their name implies, these aren’t exactly spawning left and right. If you are eagerly awaiting the day when you can dig up Rare Mushrooms, we’ve got some tips to help you get there.
Getting Rare Mushrooms in Animal Crossing
There are a couple of conditions to get Rare Mushrooms to spawn in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. First, you need to be in the right season. These mushrooms will only show up during Fall. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, the season starts around October/November. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, it will begin earlier in the year instead. You’ll know when Fall is upon you once the leaves start to change to color.
Once you’re in the right season, you need to focus on your island. Your island must have a rating of four or five stars. If you have anything lower than four, then Rare Mushrooms will not spawn.
Digging Up Rare Mushrooms
With Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Rare Mushrooms must be dug up. These will spawn at the base of trees, so keep an eye out for the digging prompt when you close to trees. During Mushrooming Season, don’t forget that up to five mushrooms of any type will spawn each day, and if you meet the island rating requirement, there’s a good chance that they can be the Rare Mushrooms.
