The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update adds a brand-new app for your NookPhone called Island Life 101. As its name suggests, this feature is aimed mostly to help out newcomers and younger audiences on navigating their virtual island escape. But what exactly is Island Life 101 Service and how do you get it? Here’s all the explanation you need regarding this new feature.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0: Unlocking Island Life 101 Service
Simply put, Island Life 101 app is a text-based tutorial menu for Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0. You can get this tips dispenser by spending 400 Nook Miles at the NookStop. The app will then be immediately installed into your in-game NookPhone. As seen below, now your loading screen will also show tooltips regarding many of the game mechanics. You can also see a log of all the (unsorted, disorganized) tips you’ve been given by going into the Island Life 101 app. The Island Life 101 app can also be accessed through NookLink on the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.
It’s not particularly useful especially if you often rely on the internet to look up guides. Not to mention there is no option to sort them based on any kind of category. But for only 400 Nook Miles, sometimes it can point out new content from the 2.0 update or Happy Home Paradise that you might miss out on. Buy the app if you are not saving your Nook Miles for something else, like farming iron nuggets on Mystery Islands, for example.
