Ant-Man 3 is all set to star Bill Murray. In an interview with German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Golden Globe winner Bill Murray revealed that he will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
It is difficult to predict what Bill Murray will do next. In 2009, he wandered into the construction site to read poetry to a group of workers. So, you can take Murray’s announcement he’s in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with a grain of salt.
“You know, recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably won’t tell you, but never mind. In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director. And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made a movie years ago which I think is damn good.” Bill Murray’s role in Ant-Man 3 was confirmed from these statements.
In any case, he appears to confirm that his mystery role in Ant-Man 3 will only be minor since he dispels the notion that he’ll be returning for other films. “So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise… Let’s put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie. But I don’t think I need that experience a second time.”
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly share top billing once again as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Avengers: Endgame was the last time fans saw them. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will reprise their roles as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, respectively, in the movie. It is unclear if Michael Pena’s Luis and David Dastmalchian’s Kurt will appear in the sequel as well.
Kathryn Newton (The Society, Freaky) will also make her MCU debut in the third installment as Cassie Lang, who was previously portrayed by Emma Fuhrmann in Endgame and Abby Ryder Fortson in the first Ant-Man films. Ant-Man 3 also features Jonathan Majors who has been cast as Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror, the first time the character has been depicted in live-action.
