Anti-Trump Car Spotted in Arizona Sparks Debate After Lake America Rename: ‘People Who Shove Their Politics in Everyone’s Face Are Insufferable’

That’s sure to spark a conversation for other drivers

A good number of people aren’t pleased with Lake America’s renaming, officially implemented on Google Maps, and one driver in Arizona was quite open about their opposition. Shared to r/pics by HeadSavings1410, the post includes a photo of the back of a Toyota with anti-Trump bumper stickers. The most noticeable thing though, is the rear windshield, with writing that reads, “Lake Epstein, sounds good to me,” topped off with a smiley face.

HeadSavings was in support of the driver’s message, naming their post “Mar-a-Lepstein” to coincide with Lake Epstein. The comment section, however, was a bit more divided on the matter. Plenty of people praised the driver, while others condemned the behavior.

Reactions For the ‘Lake Epstein’ Display Were Mixed

A big majority of the commenters called out the Arizona driver’s overt political display as “not healthy.” One person claiming they agree with the driver’s message wrote, “I would never put politics on my car. Not taking the chance of some mouth breather vandalising it.” A second user chimed in, saying, “Yeah, and it’s just super tacky to me.”

“People who shove their politics in everyone’s face – yeah, even if I agree with them – are insufferable,” another Redditor said in agreement. “This is still cringe even if I agree with it,” added a fourth. “People are literally celebrating what is most likely a schizophrenic writing gibberish on his car,” mocked a fifth.

On the flip side, plenty of people were praising the driver, with many focusing on the take for the renaming of Lake America. While one could argue they said this just to spite President Trump, a poll reported by Reuters suggests more Americans may oppose the renaming than expected. In this poll, 14% of Americans said they supported changing the name of Lake Ontario, while 63% were against it. The remainder weren’t sure or just didn’t answer.

That said, some of the Redditors aren’t wrong about the driver: the writing on the back windshield is objectively tacky. However, the scene got plenty of people talking about the renaming of the Great Lake and the politics involved. And for that, the Toyota owner’s display did its job.
