Apple announced a new device to the iPhone lineup today with the iPhone SE 2. This device will take a similar shape to the iPhone 8 but will have upgraded hardware within it. The device will start at $399 for a 64GB version.

Available to pre-order starting this Friday, the iPhone SE 2 features a familiar 4.7-inch screen. While the exterior of the device may look like yet another iteration of the iPhone 6, there is more here than meets the eyes. Photography aficionados will be happy with an upgraded 12-megapixel rear-facing camera lens and flash, with selfie-takers getting a 7-megapixel camera on the front.

“The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance, and affordable price; the new second-generation iPhone SE builds on that great idea and improves on it in every way – including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos – while still being very affordable,” said Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller.

The processor is where Apple’s newest device really shines. The A13 Bionic chip in the device is the same processor that’s in the current flagship iPhone models.

Anybody still holding onto an iPhone 8 case can find a new use for it, as cases for that model of iPhone will work on the iPhone SE 2.

One of the features people liked from the original iPhone SE in 2016 was it’s smaller size. Unfortunately, while smaller than the iPhone 11, the iPhone SE 2 uses a more modern phone size. According to The Verge, Apple says the 4.7-inch screen included on the SE 2 is the most popular screen size it has ever sold, with it appearing on more than 500 million devices.

The iPhone SE 2 will offer three different storage capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. They will cost $399, $449, and $549 respectively. Additionally, there are three color options: black, white, and red. Information on the battery life of the device has not been announced. Pre-orders of the device will start shipping on April 24.
