Some shows, movies, and specials complete big holidays. Apple TV Plus will once again be the streaming home to holiday classics of Charlie Brown for free. This comes from a 2020 deal in which it acquired the rights, but thankfully, it has let non-subscribers enjoy It’s the Great Pumpkin, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas alongside subscribers, so nobody misses out.
Subscribers will get something for themselves. The company will also have available originals, The Velveteen Rabbit on November 22; The Snoopy Show, Frog and Toad, and Shape Island will all be available on December 1. There will also be available a New Year’s-themed episode of Sago Mini Friends on December 22. From live-action to stop-motion, there will be plenty of options to watch from these originals.
Apple TV Plus Is the Streaming Home of Charlie Brown Holiday Classics Again, With a Free Option for Non-Subscribers
The one catch in the announcement of having the Charlie Brown specials on Apple TV Plus is that each has limited availability. It’s the Great Pumpkin will be available on October 21 and 22, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will be available on November 18 and 19, and A Charlie Brown Christmas will be available on December 16 and 17.
For the longest time, a tradition in households was to watch these specials, but it was on PBS. In the digital age, it has swapped over after a deal was made to give Apple TV Plus the Charlie Brown rights. This has meant that no other streaming service or cable network can show any episodes of the show, specials, or movies.
Peanuts started as a comic from Charlie M. Schultz in 1950. Between becoming popular on the page and on the small screen, it grew to become an influential franchise with beloved characters and stories told with them that were funny and showed plenty of heart.
