As part of the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show, Arcade1up has revealed an entirely new lineup for the 2021 year. Following the tradition Arcade1Up made at the previous year’s CES, it is often treated as a time for promotion with new upcoming cabinets announced. With games ranging from pinball machines to Star Wars-branded arcade ones, the company has taken the liberty of preserving the coin-operated feeling of classic games. This past year, the company has received more orders than ever before thanks in part to the ongoing pandemic. Servicing most of their products around classic arcade experiences, the companies newest arcades certainly return that nostalgia. Arcade 1Up certainly wanted to start the year off right by unveiling 7 new cabinets. Ramping up their production with a whole new line of arcade experiences, Arcade 1Up has big plans for this new year.
The new arcade cabinet line showcased tributes to their original developer’s history and library of titles. This new Legacy line of arcade machines includes more titles than before with up to 12 games on each cabinet. With cabinets representing Capcom, Atari, and even Bandai Namco, these legacy arcade machines are perfect nostalgia pieces. Representing each game companies history with a variety of titles really showcases the dedication Arcade 1Up has by preserving and reintroducing the arcade experience. The company is also producing a Pong pub cabinet with a flat-screen and 4 movement dials. The machine comes packed with pong variations and even breakout and tempest.
Alongside these new special cabinets, more 3/4 sized cabinets are being added to their normal catalog. The X-Men arcade machine has been reimagined with 4 player beat-em-up action and online multiplayer to boot. Adding the versus game, Avengers in the Galactic Storm is also a nice bonus for traditional fighting game fans. The Dragon’s Lair themed arcade machine has been greatly requested by fans and is finally being produced. The box comes perfectly designed to match that authentic 1983 feeling and includes Dragon’s Lair 2 and Space Ace to complete the Don Bluth animated arcade collection. Last, but certainly not least, a Killer Instinct cabinet is being made with both arcade games. The Rare fighting game makes a retro comeback finally with the inclusions of the Battletoads arcade game and the SNES classic fighting game, Battletoads/Double Dragon. While the release date and prices of these machines have yet to be announced, we’ll be sure to update you when pre-orders and release dates are revealed.
