ArcaneUnfortunate news for fans who are dying for season two of Arcane to arrive, it seems that the release date won’t be announced anytime soon. The CEO of Riot, Nicolo Laurent, shared this news in a recent interview with League of Legends Pro League caster Guan Ze Yuan in response to a question from a Chinese fan. This confirms that the release date of season 2 of Arcane will not be in 2023.
Laurent explained that while progress was being made on season two, the team did not want to rush production and wanted to ensure the quality of the show was of the highest standard. Additionally, he admitted that Riot was cautious about investing in season two before they knew if the first season would be successful. As a result, production did not start until later than it could have. Once they saw how much everyone loved the first season, they decided a second season was in order.
Arcane Season 2 Release Date Not in 2023
Although this delay may be disappointing for fans, it is clear that Riot’s caution paid off, as the first season of Arcane has been met with critical acclaim and success. The show won the award for Best Adaptations at The Game Awards and even won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. Additionally, it has been praised for its accessibility to those unfamiliar with the League of Legends universe.
Riot’s marketing efforts likely played a role in the show’s success, as the company embarked on a massive marketing campaign before Arcane’s release. This included crossovers with other popular titles such as PUBG, Fortnite, and Among Us, as well as a partnership with Rihanna’s beauty brand, Fenty.
For those who missed it, season one of Arcane is currently available on Netflix. The show follows two sisters who were separated as children and found themselves on opposite sides of a conflict over Hextech technology in the city of Piltover. While season two may not be arriving as soon as fans hoped, they still have plenty of time to catch up before it airs next year.
