Riot Games has been releasing a lot of games with different genres recently. The highly successful FPS, Valorant, is one of the aforementioned titles. Recently, because of a statement from a well-known person, Project L is now rumored to be released on consoles.
Project L is Rumored to be Released on Consoles
According to a tweet by Bruce Hsiang, a Taiwanese FTG Pro Player, he was invited to a showcase of Project L. Hsiang stated that Riot Games showcased a video that Project L will be released on the console, among other things, such as the introduction of defensive systems and the lack of CC skills like its sister game, League of Legends.
Project L, also known as Project ArcaneX, is the first fighting game that the California-based company will release. Project L has comic-style graphics that will appeal to most classic fighting game fans. Not to mention, it is a tag team-style game that is not new but an interesting approach to the genre. The developers haven’t disclosed whether the game will be released soon, but they stated that they are nearly finished with the core aspects of Project L. Here are the developers’ exact words: “So when will you get to play? Well, we’re almost locked in on the stuff that makes a game a game (core gameplay, controls, art direction, etc.) but we still need to do things like build out a full roster of champions, design stages, add menus and UI, create ranking systems, and more.”
Most fighting games are either played on the arcade or console, so it is not surprising that Riot Games wants its very own take on the genre to be available on the console. Rumors like the one above should be taken with a grain of salt, but nobody can say that a console release is entirely impossible, given the history of the titles with the same genre.
