Grande began her Instagram Story by explaining that although she’s had one of the “happiest” and “special” years of her life, it’s also been full of challenges. Despite having “polarized” feelings about 2023, the star said all of her experiences shaped her into the person she is today.

She continued her note by mentioning some of the positive things that happened to her, like getting involved in projects that left her feeling “fulfilled.” Grande was most likely referencing her work as Glinda on Wicked. She’s been busy filming the movie since December 2022. Over the past year, she’s gotten close to several members of the cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Ethan Slater, whom she’s been romantically linked to since July.
[I] learned so much from every brilliant, beautiful, soul that I had the privilege of creating art with and crossing paths with this year.

Next, Grande got real about her personal life by seemingly referencing her relationship with Slater. She said she’s “never felt more pride or joy or love while simultaneously feeling so deeply misunderstood.” This could be about the infidelity rumors surrounding Grande and Slater’s relationship. After they sparked dating rumors, many accused the couple of cheating on their previous partners.
Despite all of the “whispers” and “assumptions” about her, Grande said she’s been able to overcome these challenges thanks to her loved ones.
The star ended her message by sharing a piece of advice with fans.
If you ever feel misunderstood or alone, just remember that it will pass and you are not. Take a deep breath and know that you are so incredibly loved.
