Ariana Grande‘s brother, Frankie Grande, couldn’t be more supportive of her relationship with Ethan Slater. The reality star shared his honest thoughts about the Broadway actor in a recent interview. Thankfully, he had nothing but kind words about his sister’s latest love.

The Big Brother alum told TooFab he “love[s]” Ethan. He also called him a “very sweet guy.” As it turns out, the two go way back. Frankie first came across Ethan when he was starring in the Spongebob Squarepants musical. Shortly afterward, he met Ethan through work and continued to keep up with his Broadway projects over the years.
I’ve been a fan of him ever since seeing him in SpongeBob [the musical]. And I got to interview him when I was doing the SpongeBob SquarePants podcast. And the Broadway community is a tight-knit family.

Frankie continued to praise Ethan by calling him a “great” and “wonderful” guy. Although he’s been fond of the actor for years, his treatment of Ariana is what really won Frankie over.
He’s very very very sweet. I just, I adore him. I, honestly I’ve always just said this, all I want is for my sister to be happy and when she’s happy Iโm happy. So I’m very happy.

Frankie’s comments come nearly a year after Ariana and Ethan were first romantically linked. It all started in July 2023 when news broke that Ariana and her husband, Dalton Gomez, had split after two years together. That same month, TMZ reported the singer had begun seeing Ethan, who is starring alongside her in Wicked. Days after their relationship went public, it was revealed Ethan had filed for divorce from his wife Lilly Jay. The two had been married for five years and recently welcomed their first child when Ethan decided to call things off.
Since both Ariana and Ethan had just gotten out of serious relationships, many fans criticized the couple for moving on with each other so soon. Despite the backlash, the Wicked co-stars have continued to date. While many still don’t like them together, it’s clear the singer’s family approves of their relationship.
