Instead of quizzing Ariel Winter on her stuffed peppers recipe, TikTokers chose to speculate about the Modern Family star’s love life instead. Winter, 26, filmed a cooking video with her boyfriend, Luke Benward, 28, on TikTok.
Benward, known as Will in the Disney film Cloud 9, has been in a relationship with Winter since 2020. He previously dated his Girl vs. Monster co-star Olivia Holt. But fans are convinced he might not be Prince Charming after all.
The Rumor Mill Strikes Again
While one user wrote, “She’s so lucky,” another rained on Winter’s parade by communicating that “there’s been so many rumors about him controlling her.”
Winter decided to confront the matter head-on to stamp out the rumors once and for all.
“Guys please help,” she wrote in a sarcastic reply. “He’s forcing me on OnlyFans so he can be my manager and he doesn’t let me out of the house!!! SOS!!!!”
In all seriousness, Winter warned followers to not believe everything they see on the internet, even if it sounds really, really convincing.
“Don’t believe everything you see on [TikTok], especially rumors like that,” she wrote. “He’s a great man, and if he wasn’t, the dogs would take his ass outside.”
The user who sparked the rumors apologized for the misunderstanding, but Winter showed her true colors by handling the situation graciously.
“It’s totally okay!” she wrote. “Those clickbait type things are so easy to fall into when really, most of them are just people looking to get views anyway they can.”
If Winter Approves, That’s Good Enough For Us
Mayne we should take Winter’s word for it as to what kind of boyfriend Luke Benward truly is. She has nothing but good things to say about him, if that’s any indication.
“He’s amazing. He is definitely my safe space,” she told Entertainment Tonight in July 2021. “We’ve been able to grow together and not just be in a relationship, but we’re partners in business. We’re partners. He’s my best friend.”
Winter continued, “He’s my boyfriend, so it’s really beautiful to be able to get to that place with somebody and to have the friendship foundation first and then to be able to grow into everything, is really, really beautiful.”
