Furniture flipping is becoming more popular for those who have the hands-on knowledge to do it. TikTokers will drive around and find used furniture on the side of the road and restore it to an incredible piece that they can easily resell. One furniture flipper in Arizona has the knowledge and skill to fix up furniture in an all-new way. When he’s done and the furniture piece is sold, he graciously donates the proceeds to those in need. In his most current video, he’s giving back to families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Wayne (@wayneflips) shared a TikTok video explaining what he did with a recent piece of furniture in Arizona. A lady wanted to donate her beautiful couch set to Goodwill but wasn’t able to do so. She explained to Wayne that Goodwill wanted an astounding $100 just to pick up the set, which they would resell at their business. Instead, Wayne picked it up for free. He then restored the set and resold it to somebody else.
What Wayne did with the profits from the couch is what really warms the heart. With the money from the couch sale, he bought an entire trunk full of turkeys for Thanksgiving. In the video, his daughter is sitting in the back of the vehicle and you can see handfuls of full-size turkeys. He goes on to say he’s “taking them to a food bank right now.” This is a man with a huge heart who likes doing things he loves for the greater good.
It’s also not the first time that Wayne used his love of furniture flipping to give back. In previous videos, he fixed up furniture to resell so he could donate to somebody fighting brain cancer. He also flipped to help a single mother pay for cystic fibrosis treatment for her young son. The fact that somebody donated his time and energy to give back to his Arizona community is so groundbreaking and amazing.
One commenter pointed out that they love what he does and why he does it. They also noted, “I stopped giving to Goodwill. I started giving it to women’s shelters or to SafeNest which helps victims of domestic violence.” It’s important to know why so many people are against Goodwill. Essentially, the company hides behind a promise of being charitable to people in many communities. However, they are realistically a for-profit company that sells items at high prices and takes advantage of its own charitable tax status.
So, if you’re thinking of donating to Goodwill because you want to do something good… You may want to rethink things.
