A mother in Chandler, Arizona, a very popular influencer, shared pool safety advice with her followers almost a year after losing her 3-year-old son in what she called a “preventable drowning accident.” Her audience reacted with kindness and love, encouraging her to continue on her healing path.
The woman’s name is Emilie Kiser. She is a lifestyle influencer, mother of Teddy and Trigg, the latter being her 3-year-old who passed away after falling into a swimming pool in 2025. After a hiatus, she resumed her regular posting, but this clip in particular stood out due to its virality. In a day, it garnered 8.8 million views, 1.6 million likes, and 10,700 comments.
The Arizona influencer started her clip by saying that it was not easy to discuss the topic at hand: pool safety advice. She detailed how Trigg passed away in a “preventable drowning accident,” and she hoped her video could help other families and children.
“I will always take full accountability for that,” Emilie said, referring to her son’s death. “As a parent, it is your job to protect your child.”
On May 12, 2025, Trigg was found unconscious in his family’s backyard pool, which was uncovered at the time. His father, Brady, Emilie’s husband, was watching Teddy, their 1-year-old son at the time, while Emilie was not home. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where, six days later, he passed away.
Pool Safety Advice
She then described how multiple child drownings happen every day, revealing that it is the “number one cause of death in children 3 and under.” With May being Water Safety Awareness Month, she hoped that her message could inspire other parents to take precautions and safety measures to ensure that their children are safe while at pools.
“Install a pool fence. Make sure you have door alarms. Make sure that if you have door alarms, all of your batteries are updated,” Emilie said. “Please make sure that you watch your children around water.”
The Arizona mother also urged parents to get their children into ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) lessons or, “at the very least,” swimming lessons. Finally, she also told parents to learn how to do CPR.
Heartwarming Reactions
The video sparked multiple responses.
Some viewers, fully aware of her story, comforted Emilie in such a vulnerable moment, especially since her son’s death’s first anniversary is just around the corner. One viewer said, “Please forgive yourself, mama.” Another one said, “You and Trigg are saving so many lives!“
Others, taking note of her advice, shared that they have started with the decision-making. One viewer wrote, “My daughter, 4, has her first swim lesson tonight because of you.” Another one responded, “Mine too, she is 1!“
As many others pointed out, Emilie’s way to turn a tragedy into advocacy is nothing short of admirable. Just like the video shown above, she will continue to honor her son’s legacy by helping others.
