A flight traveling from California to Tennessee was diverted to Phoenix, Arizona, after a passenger reportedly became disruptive and refused to follow instructions from flight attendants. A video posted on TikTok by a fellow passenger shows the man refusing to leave the aircraft as crew and Phoenix police tried to usher him out.
The video went viral, receiving over 3 million views. Viewers criticized the man’s behavior and expressed frustration over the inconvenience he caused other passengers aboard the plane.
According to the passenger who filmed the incident, the flight had departed Burbank, California, around 7 a.m. and was heading to Nashville when the pilot reportedly decided to divert to Phoenix. The passenger said the man had been “verbally combative” and “aggressive” toward people around him and refused to cooperate with flight attendants. The crew reportedly became concerned about everyone’s safety and decided it would be better to have him removed before the situation escalated.
The TikTok video showed the man being escorted out of the plane by airline staff. He appeared to be on the phone with someone, explaining what was happening.
As they moved along the aisle, the man suddenly plopped himself into an empty seat between two other passengers. The staff repeatedly asked him to get up, but he remained seated and continued talking on his phone.
When police officers boarded the plane, the passenger initially refused to follow their instructions as well. However, after a brief exchange, he eventually stood up and walked off the aircraft with the officers.

The comments under the video were largely critical of the passenger.
