An Arizona woman started recording when drama broke out on a United Airlines Flight. The reason why? A flight attendant made multiple people switch out of their seats and two passengers were unhappy about it. This distaste sparked a back-and-forth confrontation that ended in hurt feelings.
TikToker @mommabear_0708 recorded the moment several flight passengers started fighting with each other after an in-flight announcement. As caught on video, an attendant asks several passengers to switch seats due to extreme heat measures. A man and his mother-in-law were asked if they could move to different seats, even though they purchased seats next to each other. On top of that, the man was dealing with a knee-related issue and had a brace. He didn’t want to give up his seat.
A pilot came on over the loudspeaker and said everybody will have to get off the flight so they can properly re-board. At that point, a Karen at the front of the plane started getting irate over the entire situation. She started saying rude things to the man and his mother-in-law. The woman can be heard angrily yelling, “It’s a seat! Really?” The man leans front and says to the woman at the front of the plane, “We all have issues, honey.” He tries to tell her that he has a “bum knee” and needs the extra space he paid for. When she continues berating him, he states, “Sorry for breathing!”
Employees come to talk to the man. He lets them know he “paid” to have this special seat next to his mother-in-law. He paid to have a spot where he can stretch out and enjoy the flight with his relative. Several other passengers try to get him to change spots so the flight can resume but he tells one of them, “You don’t even work here, bro” and shuts down the conversation.
The woman at the front of the flight continues to berate the passenger and even makes a comment about his mother. When he tells her his mom is deceased, she exclaims, “That’s why she’s not here!” The entire flight erupts in gasps for her comment. The man’s mother-in-law immediately gets up to defend him and screams at the woman, “I should smack you for that!” The man tries to calm down his mother-in-law while an attendant arrives and tries to calm down the situation. It’s unclear if the passengers had to re-board the plane in the end.
