ARK Survival Evolved: Fjordur Runes Explained
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Would you like an explanation of Fjordur runes in ARK Survival Evolved? The latest ARK Survival Evolved update to the game has added a lot of new things to the game. The game received new mini-bosses and bosses, a new location, and exciting weapons that are not so easy to get. Among other things, new items called Fjordur runes have has added to the game. Our today’s guide aims to tell you everything you need to know about Fjordur runes and how they relate to the rest of the innovations in the game.

Fjordur Runes Explained in ARK Survival Evolved

(Updated on August 8, 2024 – updated links and format)

Fjordur Runes are small red runes that float above the ground. There are 200 runes in the game, located all over the game map, and you will have to spend a lot of time before you can collect them all. But for each rune you collect, you will get some experience, so you should at least collect them to level up.

Once you’ve collected Fjordur Runes, it won’t move into your inventory; it will simply disappear. Instead, a small inscription will appear on the screen, which will indicate how many runes you have already found.

After collecting all 200 Fjordur Runes, you will be able to unlock the Mjolnir skin on your Tek Sword. The new weapon skin will not give any bonuses other than changing the appearance.

If you get the Mjolnir skin and want to get and use the real Mjolnir, you’ll have to work hard to get it:

  • First, you need to kill the Monster Alphas of the new region to get some runestones for killing them.
  • Further, using 30 runestones, you need to summon and kill three mini-bosses: Haiti and Skoll, Beyla, and Steinbjorn.
  • By killing the mini-bosses, you will receive the items needed to summon the Fenrir boss.
  • After killing the Fenrir boss, you will receive the legendary weapon Mjolnir.

The appearance of the Mjolnir skin and Mjolnir weapons is almost the same, so before you test yourself in battle, collect 200 Fjordur Runes and see if you should get a real Mjolnir.
