If you’re one of the millions of Assassin’s Creed fans waitingย for Assassin’s Creed Mirage to come out, then good news! You’ll get it earlier than you think. Earlier today, Ubisoft made an announcement on its official Twitter page that not only has Mirage “gone gold”, meaning its development is officially finished, but that it’ll be released a week ahead of schedule. Instead of getting the game on October 12th, as was initially planned, this announcement means Assassin’s Creed Mirage will hit stores on October 5th, 2023.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Date Gets Moved Up

First announced in September 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest game in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, following Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in 2020. The game has largely been marketed as a return to “the roots” of Assassin’s Creed,ย both in terms of setting and gameplay. Ubisoft has promised that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have “a bigger focus on stealth and parkour” than some of the recent Assassin’s Creed games, which fans have complained strayed too far from what makes Assassin’s Creed unique. In addition,ย Mirage’sย playtests have indicated that it should only take 30 hours to complete, which is only half the time it takes to complete AC Valhalla.

While the smaller size of Assassin’s Creed Mirage might have played a factor in its release date being moved up, Ubisoft hasn’t shared the reason behind the change. In an official announcement on Twitter this morning, Ubisoft shared the following:

“Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone gold and is coming out a week early! On behalf of the entire team, we can’t wait for you to explore 9th Century Baghdad with Basim. Your journey now starts on October 5. Save the new date! #AssassinsCreed.”

The only thing we know for sure, other than the new release date, is that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has “gone gold,” meaning that its development is officially finished, and the game is ready to be shipped. Hopefully, this means that come October 5th, Mirage will see a relatively smooth, bug-free launch.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release for Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, PS5, and PC on October 5th, 2023.
