Fans continue to wait in anticipation for Attack on Titan‘s next anime season. In the meantime, entertainment company Funimation has announced they will be adding yet another exciting release to their list – an officially licensed mobile game.

Funimation is teaming up with GameSamba and NGames to create this newest Attack on Titan project. It will be available on both iOS and Android devices. The game will most likely be released by the end of this year.

The game will apparently be about the action of the series. It will focus most on battling titans and players running through the environment. The mobile work will have deeper elements input later on, but for now, the developers will be focused on making this game similar to the anime series. This is especially for the titan battles, which are some of the most important parts of the anime series.

Funimation is focusing on making this mobile game feel as much like the anime series as possible. Especially when it comes to the Titans.

Gen Fukunaga, the CEO of Funimation Entertainment, spoke in a statement about the project. “We’re very excited to work with NGames and GameSamba to create a game based on the wildly popular Attack on Titan franchise,” Fukunaga said. “With more than 50 million copies of the manga in print, a 25 episode anime series, and last year’s live action films, we’re excited to show fans what we can do with a game.”

Funimation has promised that more about the mobile game will be announced at a later date.
