Bachelor alum Sarah Herron wanted her dad to be The Golden Bachelor. Sarah rose to fame in season 7 of the original show. Herron just revealed her father tried out for an opportunity on the show. The man who did land the gig is named Gerry Turner. He is a 71-year-old widow who lost his wife suddenly to an illness. It is said everything about this show will switch up The Bachelor in ways it has never seen. Obviously, fantasy suite dates will be very different with a more mature crowd. Things 20-year-olds like doing are not the same things 70-year-olds like.
He currently resides in Indiana now but hails from Iowa. He is likely to bring a level of class to the show that it has never achieved before. Though it is a huge step for him, he feels ready to tackle love again, head-on.

Via Screenrant: “I nominated my dad. And he got through, like, the first round of casting [years ago].” The fact it happened years ago just shows how long have had this idea in the works. Her Dad also played a trick on her, saying he got the callback. She was so sure that he landed it, but it was April Fool’s Day prank. But Gerry seems like he is going to do a great job on the spin-off. Bringing some much-needed maturity to the iconic reality show.
Bachelor alumni Sarah Herron clearly really wanted her dad to be The Golden Bachelor. Alas, that just didn’t work out in her favor. It is not uncommon for people on the show to get relatives on the show, but Gerry just had the sauce. Keep your eyes peeled for The Golden Bachelor this Fall.
